I was really disappointed at this place. I went with my family and this is really not a family environment. The appetizer we had tasted like it was made two days ago. Their main entree was really bad I had steak a lo pobre. The steak was really thin and had no taste. The rice was super hard like it had been microwaved. I think the only good thing in that plate was the eggs. The food is terrible and really expensive. They also charge a 18% automatic gratuity no matter if it's 2 people eating. I would never recommend this place. This is good if it's drinking in a bar not for eating food. If you want real peruvian food I recommend. La limeña or Canela Restaurant. Very authentic and pleasant experience. Actually cheaper too.

NEVER COMING BACK! The total of the bill was $278.52, plus taxes, plus they included 50.15$ (18%) gratuity giving us a total of $346.53.... HOWEVER, if you pay with your card , they charge you $360.39. who has that kind of cash in their pocket? We live in USA, no one, unless is a server/waiter, carries that much money on a daily basis. The server kept saying that the owner changed their system about a month ago and now they have to charge us when we pay with a debit/credit card. This is absolutely absurd, the restaurant should be responsible to pay that fee, not the customer. Im never coming back to this ghetto place. Food was ok, service was decent, they were out of most of the things we requested on top of that, we were charged more! I have a lot of Peruvian friends and I will make sure everyone knows about this. DO NOT GO THERE YOU WILL BE ROBBED!

I recently dined at this place and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. The poor service was immediately noticeable once seated, the waitstaff seemed disinterested and inattentive, making the whole dining experience quite unpleasant.To add to the frustration, the food, which we had such high hopes for, turned out to be overly salty and lacked the promised flavors. This was quite disappointing, especially considering the restaurant's reputation for its cuisine.What puzzled me the most was the mandatory high tip that was included in the bill. This was despite the fact that the service didn't warrant it. It felt unjustified and only added to the feeling of being taken advantage of.Overall, I left the restaurant feeling let down and frustrated. I hope that the management takes note of these issues and works on improving the quality of both the service and the food. As a paying customer, it's disheartening to leave a dining establishment feeling dissatisfied.I sincerely hope that future patrons have a better experience than I did.

So sad and dissatisfied with our visit to El Meson. This place is not Peruvian. It is a bad Latin American. local. I ordered Chicharrón con Tuca Frita and it was flavorless and was reheated. My husband ordered Arroz Chaufa and it was terrible. We barely ate the food. They automatically add the tip and charged us an additional fee because we paid with a credit card. The service was awful. The room is not clean. We will definitely not go back nor recommend El Meson.
