Food was great but service was up and down. Sometimes, it took 40 mins to get food.

Update: things got much better at Pacifica. The service is friendlier, the food is tastier, and portions are still large. The steamed pork bun is excellent. There are some great veggie options, like the eggplant. They may also be able to make things that are actually not on the printed menu. Call and ask what they can do if you don't find what you are looking for.

We have been going pacific cafe for years. My American wife and native born children love cafe’s “real Chinese dishes like grandparents cooked”. They are the best Chinese restaurant in DC metro. We always order to go dishes for Chinese holidays. Their quantity is 2-3 times more than other restaurants’ dishes. We always take left over to eat for days. Strongly recommend this restaurant.

I've eaten here twice. I don't understand the praise. This is the worst Chinese Restaurant in the area. The service is extremely slow. I forgave this the first time because they were busy. The second time there was only one other couple at a table.I had the most tasteless Mongolian beef I've ever had on my first visit. On my second I had beef LoMein. It cost over $16. I could tell it wasn't fresh and had been reheated. It made me queasy as I ate it. My Wonton soup appetizer had just two wontons with a tasteless watery broth. They couldn't even add some chives. I tried their duck as well. Extremely dry, something that should never happen with duck. If you enjoy fried rice you'll definitely want to avoid this place as they won't substitute steamed rice. On top of all this the prices are $2-3 higher than other Chinese restaurants.I will never eat here again. There are so many better options nearby than this place. The only positive is the ambience.

Tried a few dishes and appetizers. Sad to say they were saturated with oil and largely flavorless.

Have not been here awhile but they got the 3.5 stars to make them a legit Chinese restaurant rating. So checked it out with some friends who knew how to order. The tea leaf wrapped duck was the highlight. Order a day in advance and this will blow you away, not to mention you will have enough left overs for the next couple of days. Other dishes are on par with other Shanghai/Taiwan places. The beef and hot peppers also has a good kick to it. Come with big group and come hungry. Portions are big.

I 've been to almost all the highly rated Chinese places in MoCo, but I finally made it here. We pre-ordered a few of their signature dishes which requires a few days notice. We had a bunch of friends to join us to share in our fabulous feast. We ordered the 8 treasure duck, broiled pork leg, seaweed infused fish, pork dry bean curd, lion's head meatball, bamboo soup, beef long peppers, and Chinese squash/loofah. Everything was well executed and most dishes were outstanding. The few I ate, but probably wouldn't order again were the soup and loofah. They tasted fine since I knew what to expect, just not a big fan of them. Loofah is kinda like a Chinese version of okra, where the middle is kinda slimy. It was tender and tasted good with the garlic sauce, I just prefer other veggies. The soup was filled with tofu skin, pork, bamboo shoots; good but I wanted to save room for all the other stuff. Beef long peppers was good and pretty spicy, but not enough to make it overbearing; wasn't hotter than jalapenos though. The fish was cooked perfectly and they were huge chunks of tender white fish, but not much seaweed flavor. Pork and dry bean curd was a really good rendition and probably one of the best around; I like how they cut the tofu into really big chucks and still very flavorful. The meatballs were so soft and tender, could have used a little more flavor/salt, but would definitely get again. The two signature dishes were absolutely wonderful; they actually came out first and we were amazed at how big they were. The pork leg meat literally fell off the bone and had a good meat/fat ratio. The skin was so tasty and I liked the green veggies that came with it. The duck however was the star of the meal. Deboned and stuffed with sticky rice, duck meat, sausage, chestnuts, and other things, it was unlike anything I've ever had. It made for a substitute of white rice and paired so well with all of the other dishes. Service was good overall, although the dining room wasn't too full. One of the best meals I've had in a while and I look forward to coming back.

Ordered to-go recently and was pleased with the food. The Mongolian Beef and Lo Mein were very good. I wasn't crazy about the Pan Fried Pork Dumplings though. They seemed more like Pot Stickers than Dumplings, but won't deter me from ordering from there again.

I am a repeat customer of Pacifica Cafe. The food is consistent in taste and quality. One of my favorite dishes is the spicy stir fry beef and peppers. The flavor is quite savory, filling, and immaculate. My top place to go for authentic Chinese dishes.

we all know getting really really good Chinese food in Montgomery county can definitely be a hit or miss. But every time I come to Pacifica, I am guaranteed to enjoy the food. My family and I order from this place on average three nights a week. They even have some of those specialty dishes that you can’t find at many restaurants. Check out their menu; you won’t be disappointed! Personally I love their garlic green beans, the wonton soup, chicken lo-mein or the hunan tofu dishes. The owners are very nice and the restaurant is always very clean and welcoming. If you want to have a great meal, I definitely recommend trying Pacifica Cafe.
