I have been going to Fatboys Shack for Years! I have spent hundreds of dollars in food and drinks and could say I always had a positive experience until today. Today, I did not only feel disrespected and unheard but I felt that the General Manger could care less about the quality of food they were serving. I was literally the first to receive the crabs for the day, for the shipment just came in. When opening my crabs, a strong anomia stench came from the crab. I just thought it was a bad crab so I opened another one, and it also smelled sour. I informed the staff and the General Manger. At no point was any of the crabs eaten. Also, please note... I only ordered (6 crabs)! As I explained it to him. He smelled it and inspected and said it smelled fine to him. After a little back and forth...He then took off a piece of the "old man fingers" and took it over to the cooks to smell. I asked let me go with you to hear their thoughts. he spoke to the cooks in Spanish the entire time and they responded in Spanish as well. I was unable to translate their interaction. He would not allow the other young staff to weigh in on the discussion. He then said it was the shell and not the meat. I told him that I did not feel comfortable in eating it and had my friend smell it as well. He too also smelled it and thought it was sour. The General Manager not only becomes loud and short tempered when talking to me, but he refused to rectify the matter... without solution. He denied me a refund and said I would have to keep the order and pay it. I would have just replaced it with food or drinks, but how he handled it was extremely poor! I'm taking this matter further because I have never been treated like this in any other food establishment. Be careful of what you consume here, obviously they could care less.

We always loved this place for its outdoor dining and great food. This was the first time we had been there in a while, and the food has dropped in quality and jumped on price. The service was good but it was a Saturday evening at 5 and they were out of things. We were so disappointed because we would always stop by in the summer when family came into town. The biggest disappointment was the kids meal. The fish fry was dropping in grease when it arrived. No more.Kid-friendliness: They have a silde and swingout back

Don't eat here. They don't cook the food. I was served uncooked mozzarella sticks. Even after the manager knew the mozzarella sticks weren't cooked, the manager made no attempt to correct things. Places is trash. Don't go

The broiled seafood platter, onion rings and cream of crab soup is tasty and my server Trina was absolutely great! She really went above and beyond to make me comfortable so I could have an enjoyable meal. I will be back!

Nice easy going neighborhood spot with outdoor seating and TVs. Crabs come with butter vinegar and spices.
Always like to support locally owned businesses, this place doesn't disappoint. By far, these guys have the best crabs on the shore!

Any and every time I visit the DMV area I go to Fat Boys and get the Crab Dip, Crab Cake, and Crab Pretzel. Last weekend I tried the calamari and fried shrimp… I’ve got to give it to them again, All 10s!

This place used to be awesome. Not sure what has happened, but not what it used to be.Crabs at $95/doz that were oversteamed and tasted like water, zero seasoning. Super clueless people working the register. Was asked to repeat a basic order of 'one dozen large crabs and an order of hush puppies' three times before they could get it entered in the system successfully. Bartender guy had an attitude and insisted ordering from one side of the bar versus the other in order to be served. Not sure why this was a thing, as seats were open and no one was waiting to order. No crab knives, butter was what seemed to be margarine or was just very old, and we had to go search these things out after the crabs were dropped off. This trip to Fat Boys was all at a very non-busy time with lots of tables open and no lines or waits. I cleaned our table and threw everything away myself when we finished, but when I took the tray and mallets back no one wanted to make eye contact to take it. All in all a strange experience with poor service. I don't usually post anything negative, but wouldn't want anyone else wasting $150 like we did.

This place used to be OUR SPOT for years, but since the new owners have come about... my husband has had food poisoning, the food is mediocre and the owners could care less about the community . Additionally, they reheat, preheat, reheat again their crabs. This place USED to be a staple for me, my husband, and family. Not anymore and never again. Side note, the female manager and pregnant bartender are the best! They should QUIT.

We just drove up from atlanta headed to new jersey for a funeral.. We stopped by here thinking we would get HOT AND FRESH crabs .. And thats not what we got.. I should of just gotten a refund it took forever for the manager to come out.. they wanted to re steam my crabs and i said no i wanted a fresh order.. my shrimp were super greasy..even the corn and butter was cold‼️‼️‼️ never again will i come back.. it was definitely a waste of my TIME AND MONEY.. AND THE BARTENDER SHOULD WAIT UNTIL THE CUSTOMERS ARE AT LEAST FINISHED EATING BECAUSE SHE GAVE ME THE BIGGEST HEADACHE WITH ALL THAT FABULOSO… I STILL SMELL IT IN MY NOSE AND IM ALREADY IN DELAWARE ‼️‼️‼️So rude and they shouldn’t tell us we can dine in if their going to rush our service… signing off pissed ?
