Did Door Dash last night 30 March 2024. Kodo is consistently good and our favorite Sushi/Hibachi/Chinese restaurant among many in the Crofton, Bowie, Gambrels and Odenton area. Hibachi steak was perfectly cooked, flavorful as was Combo Chicken, Steak and Shrimp Hibachi. The portion on the combo meal was so much that my wife and daughter share it. I had the hot sexy girl sushi combo, that's been my go to at Kodo for years. Pork steamed dumplings were great I actually cut them in half and put them in the Miso soup along with fried rice was really good

I came here with my family tonight and to keep it brief...Never Again. We obviously came for the Hibachi experience, but it turns out that they don't even use the grills any more. The prices are pretty steep and the food really has no flavor. When we got the bill we found a 25.00 service fee had already been added, and there was still a section for the tip. Usually the server will mention any fees at the beginning of the meal, but they just throw it on you at the end as a last second "F" you. I'm guessing that this place has seen it's best days already. When we sat down my son kept saying we should just go to Prince Kabob, but we didn't listen. We should've listened. 200.00 bucks and a stomach full of regret food. Fool me once....

I had the chicken and filet mignon. Everything was good, especially the vegetables. I asked for low salt and I do believe they followed my wishes.

Our food lack seasoning and the portion was actually small don't be deceived by the photograph the rice makes it look like a larger portion. The shrimp was overcooked as well for the steak. The noodles were rubbery and just terrible. Not a great experience and the price did not fit the food at all.

Ordered carry out and all the food came in pretty well prepared. Would def order out again. The veggie low mein and the soba noodles however left a little more to desire, tasted flavorless. Everything else however tasted pretty good and the salmon rolls tasted great.

My family and I arrived about six o'clock on a sleepy Wednesday evening to Kodo Hibachi. App food delivery folks were waiting in the lobby, and the hostess was absorbed in her computer monitor, so I approached her and asked for three for hibachi. We were seated fairly swiftly in an almost-empty restaurant (one other party was in the restaurant - a couple finishing up their hibachi). It was my eight year old's first time at hibachi. We waited for probably 10 minutes (I'm assuming the staff was waiting for additional potential guests to show up). We three ordered hibachi and it came with a salad - I received two salads, one "comes with" salad and an avocado salad I ordered that I assumed would take the place of the standard salad. Avocado salad was great, and I gave the extra salad to my family to fight over. The dinner was skillfully prepared and was just as we ordered. Everyone got vegetables, fried rice, AND noodles (standard service), and each of us got two shrimp (also standard) as a little appetizer. I had ordered chicken hibachi, kiddo ordered shrimp hibachi, and dad ordered filet mignon hibachi. Everyone was happy with portion, doneness, and taste of meal. Kiddo and I had leftovers. Our chef was great. Our waitress was rather joyless but she was efficient at her job. It's located in a full strip mall and the decor was lackluster, but we would go back again.

Make sure you pay attention to your bill...actually ask if they have a service charge..I had one on my tab of 30 dollars...!!! I was about to leave my usual 20% of my check...luckily the misses noticed it on the check..i asked the waitress...she explained that basically that was a "tip" and she went on to tell me basically it was for everybody working on the restaurant!! I wonder how many people just paid the ticket without paying attention and still left a tip..There was nothing informing you of such a charge..I felt the way they did it was sneaky...And what I ended up paying doesn't mesh with quality of sushi...There are better options in the surrounding areas!!

Manager is rude as hell. She is short Chinese and soo rude. No Greeting , just stares at you until you order. If their service is like this who knows what kind of food they prepare and what ingredients they use!!!!! Ugh

Went to neighborhood Kodo yesterday night. Kodo is a nice hibachi and sushi restaurant. They are typically never busy and you will be seated right away. If you are going for hibachi they have not been cooking on their grills in months. You will still enjoy the same hibachi food without the show that comes along with it. The reason for 3 stars is due to the service. There is usually only one server on every time, the food takes a while to come out. The drinks are ok. They don't have to many brown liquors which I prefer. Overall I would give them a try if you are looking for a quick no wait option, there are other hibachi options in the area, but they are typically crowded.

Kodo Hibachi has been our spot for Chinese/Japanese cuisine. The dinner combos are on point and so is the sushi. I decided to try one of my vegetarian favorites, mapo tofu. I've never been to China but I've ordered it enough in DC, on the west coast, northeast, and never had mapo tofu fried rice style. Again, the food is typically great. Would I recommend mapo tofu? If you love peas and carrots, 12/10. If you like the spice and sauce of mapo tofu, uninterrupted, I would pass.

Sooo last Friday, my boyfriend and I decided to actually dine in Kodo. We have been ordering from them for over a year or so now, but via delivery services or pick up. We arrived at roughly, 6 PM EST. There was no wait, the place was completely empty, which isn't bad on a Friday night... We typically order the shrimp hibachi entree OR the steak and shrimp hibachi entree, which my boyfriend loves. We decided on a sushi date, so we ordered only soup, California rolls, and Spicy Shrimp rolls this time. Which were so fresh and tasty. The experience was OK but next time we will continue to order to go, we have long waiting times and were the only guest there. However, I definitely recommend giving them a try!

Sushi lovers...this is the place to be! I haven't ordered any sushi in this restaurant that I did not enjoy. They are reasonably priced and the entire staff are always friendly. The Chinese food is also very tasty. Although, I wasn't a fan of their hibachi...it was just okay. I frequent here just for their sushi.

I ordered twice from this restaurant over the past eight months, based on a positive review from a neighbor. The first time I ordered beef and broccoli. It was tasty. Recently, I ordered three chicken hibachi dinners with fried rice, miso soup and salad. The chicken was chewy and devoid of flavor, and the sauce was very scarce (although I don't like food drowned in sauce, I also don't want something dry and tasteless). The dish contained three pieces of broccoli and a couple pieces of carrots. The fried rice, soup and salad were tasty enough. The meals were $16.95 each -- definitely not worth the bland, chewy chicken that I could not finish (when I reheated the leftover chicken it was even worse). My kids didn't like their chicken hibachi either. I don't think I will be back.

In the area for work. Needed some decent, non fast food. Ordered thru a delivery AP. The food is fantastic!! I got the chicken and steak hibachi and crab Rangoon. The only real negative is that they did not send the ginger sauce or the yum yum sauce. Isn't the yum yum half the reason for getting Hibachi??? I think so. If the sauces had been there, this would be a five star review. The steak wasn't budget cut tough. There was no place to specify temperature, but it came medium to mid well. The chicken wasn't cooked dry. What salad that was there was fresh, bright lettuce. You get noodles and fried rice. I definitely had enough for another nights dinner. It's the little things.
