Friendly service, short wait for take-out orders, inviting interior (clean and modern, airy). However, food is definitely not the same as the Jumbo Jumbo in Rockville. Menu is much shorter and simpler, and the taste is definitely Americanized (unlike the authentic Jumbo Jumbo). Packaging is different too (still good packaging). The kumquat drink is still great (same taste as the branch in Rockville). The fried tempura is so bland that we didn't finish it. It's supposed to be our favorite dish. Don't order that one at this branch (the Rockville store is much better). Taiwanese popcorn is alright but not as good as those from Rockville. Not enough basil (love fried basil). Not enough spice. But not too bad ... Winter hours are 11 am to 7:30 pm

The drinks I ordered were really bad. The milk tea tasted super watered down while the plum fruit tea had no detectable flavor.

I love this place. It’s one of the original bubble tea shops in the area that used to also have a location in Rockville. For drinks, I usually get the taro milk tea to go. I’ve noticed every time this one employee (older white male) makes it there’s a ton of undissolved powder that makes the drink..unappetizing. This is the third time I’ve had a disappointing chalk-like consistency drink and it’s always been made by him. Other employees seem to make the taro milk tea taste creamy and smooth so if you see him in particular when you’re craving in a boba drink, go to boba pop instead for your boba fix. Otherwise, jumbo jumbo has super friendly and great customer service (shoutout to the sweet African lady) and tasty treats. Their spicy popcorn chicken is quite savory and I highly recommend them if you’re looking to indulge as they deep fry them in lots of oil. They also have unique toppings like taro boba and their prices are very reasonable.

I grabbed dinner with a friend for a sit down meal. The food was delicious and the service friendly. Parking was right in front of the store and free. The ambiance is light and inviting. Wishing it had more seating space but it did the trick. The chicken was tender and fried perfectly. I wouldn't mind ordering from the location again.

A cute little place! I got there right when they opened, so I had no wait to order and it only took a few minutes for my drink. I ordered a Pumpkin Spice Milk Tea, which is a seasonal menu item. They had a couple different toppings you could choose from for the drinks if you want them, so I added some boba to mine. The flavor itself wasn't really that strong, but it still tasted good. I just wish it was a little more pumpkin spice-y.

Holy cow, if you are into the fried chicken craze, Jumbo Jumbo is a must. Bon Chon is good, but the flavor of the Taiwanese chicken here beats it hands down. Don't expect as much crunch.I had the fried combo (chicken, tofu, squid). I didn't love the squid as it had a bit of fishy aftertaste that I don't generally get in calamari. The chicken and the tofu were spectacular.Good value for the price.I have been to the location in Rockville that closed. This was just as good.Highly recommend.

Maybe we came on a bad day, but the lemon kumquat boba was astringent and watery, with a strong floral taste, and the vanilla boba tasted like watery, artificial vanilla powder. The pork chop was fine but my husband said the dumplings were hard and dry. With so many other boba options in the area, we probably won't be coming back.

I had the taro bubble tea, and ordered the jumbo/large size. Decently priced for the portion/size and the boba/tapioca pearls was actually good. However, the taro milk tea that I had was not good and tasted like it was quite watered down. I did not taste any tea at all. However I do want to give a shout out to the staff who was super friendly!

Ordered the popcorn chicken. My thought is the Rockville location prepares the popcorn chicken better. This location was lacking on the seasoning. You had some pieces with no seasoning and others with the right amount. Hopefully my next experience ordering the popcorn chicken is better. I’ll give it one more try.The honeydew milk tea with boba was really good! I’ll definitely come back for another drink.

The Taiwanese chicken never disappoints! It's always delicious and freshly fried. My husband orders the pork chop sometimes but I'm not a fan. Recently, there was a weird batter on it which didn't look appetizing.

I have gotten food, desserts and boba from here for a few years and have always enjoyed everything. Their menu is smaller than the one in Rockville, but it seems to be growing over the years.I am not sure why there is such bad reviews, the staff are always nice when I go and the food is good. Last time I ate in person and got a Taiwanese shaved ice, which isn't on the menu. It was really big and they have all the toppings that they offer for boba.Their boba is good, and is less pricey than the other boba tea places in Germantown.I love their Taiwanese chicken and green beans. The combo with the ground pork rice is always a hit. They just added a grilled chicken option, which was good and makes eating here a little bit healthier. The spring rolls are also really good and are a great value (3 for $3.50).The portions are generous, and they give a lot of chicken in the combos. Also not on their online menu are the taro balls. These are so good and worth the wait, since you have to order them in person. They don't have a lot of seating inside, so take out is recommended for the food. It is fine for a quick dessert.
