I was told their smoothies are made with fresh fruit, yet I caught male middle eastern employee putting some other blueberry concoction in the blender. It did not even resemble fresh blueberries. It tastes like a WATER ICE because he put water and ice in it. Real smoothies are NOT made with WATER. Don't waste your money at Tropical Smoothie in Germantown MD.

Came today 9/5 at 8am, I’m not sure why this establishment leaves a singular person to handle everything on her own. I came in to order an açaí bowl, asked that we substitute the chia seeds for extra granola and she couldn’t understand me, just nodded yes. Then told me I would have to wait because she had 7 mobile orders to do first? I waited for 30 minutes and when I got my açaí bowl she did not add extra granola, the pieces she did add were not crushed and the pieces of fruit were almost whole. This was my first time at this location and I will NOT be coming back. Please hire more staff.

The sotre has friendly staff, is in a nice location, and has plenty of parking.
Service was friendly but they were really backed up and understaffed so the smoothie took a while even though I ordered it on the app 12 minutes in advance. However they did not blend the smoothie completely so it was difficult to drink as fruit chunks keep getting stuck in the straw

Nope it's a no for me. On 05/31/23 at approximately around 1pm. This manager or whatever he is.. customer service is not his thing. I took my daughter here today for lunch which she frequents here for her smoothies and wanted to try a different kind, she tasted it and was not the acquired taste she thought it would be. She asked politely could she please change it for her usual and was told "No" he told her he could add more stuff to the smoothie. I stepped in I told him it's that she doesn't like the flavor he still declined. I don't see where this could have been such a big issue just to change it. He wouldn't even give me my money back! It's a No Stars for me ,this tropical smoothie will never get a dime out of my pockets not while he is there. The employees don't even smile when they greet you smh.

Great food and service from all workers expect for TERRIBLE experiences with manager, Manoj Patel. I experienced racism and threats during the application/interview process that now leave me uncomfortable to revisit a former favorite spot.After ordering from the location frequently and having pleasant experiences, I was interested in working. When speaking to the manager, he asked me some normal questions but pointedly interrogated me about my "country of origin" in the disbelief that I was born in MD/ the US. This included asking repeatedly about my 'real' country, where I was 'really from', my citizenship and green card status, where my family is from, their citizenship status, how many times + how often I visit 'my country' and for how long I have visited. I answered patiently and understandingly since he is also South Asian; I assumed it was a language/cultural misunderstanding but felt off-put.Was messaged for an interview and came in on 4/18. Again, he did not believe I was born in Gaithersburg: asking me to speak in/about Hindi (which I do not speak nor do people from my country commonly), how many Bollywood films and actors I know, asking me about 'my country' and how long I have lived there despite my lack of knowledge and consistent, polite explanations to having lived in the US my whole life.The final part to this issue was when I asked about pay ($14/hr) at the end of the interview and paperwork process. I said that I thought in our county it was around $15, to which he began to raise his voice. I added, no worries, that I was still very interested and happy to work there. He threatened to end the interview there and to make me leave the store. I apologized, assured him it wasn't a concern/issue, asked to continue the interview and move on several times. After disregard and continued threats/unprofessionalism I stated that I did have the right to ask that, and would just like to continue. Then he began yelling that I had no place to come into the store and talk about "my rights, my rights" and continued to threaten ending it. I apologized and reiterated my request to stay professional and move on. I was only met with ignorance and continued shouting and threats until I finally stated that would be considered discrimination. It ended with me being dismissed and the rest of the customers in the store, shocked, and leaving behind me.I don't believe this treatment is appropriate, respectful nor professional. It made me uncomfortable and unable to continue visiting Tropical Smoothie in Germantown, much less work there. :(
