Great food great service... Generous portions of fresh delicious sushi. I have been enjoying this restaurant for 12 years now and go at least once a week.

Ew pretty gross. Will not be assisting lunch buffet ever. Pretty expensive price for days old fish and cold fried vegetables. You will get stared at the entire time you eat by the 4 men behind the bar.

The lunch buffet is my favorite part of Yuraku! The sushi selection on the buffet is by far the best in the area. I highly recommend you stop bye for their lunch buffet.

We used to go here all the time for sushi in the 90's since it was hands down the best in the area. After moving away 30 years ago, we found ourselves back in Germantown again and decided to see if it was still the same. I'm happy to say is it still as PHENOMENAL as ever!!! Again, by far the best sushi in Germantown, and quite possibly the best in the DC metro area! For reference, I was stationed in Japan for a year in the military and while I don't profess to be an expert, I definitely know good sushi. They still have the same fast and friendly service and cost is what I would I'll consider a great bargain considering the current economy. The volcano rolls are a must try. Highly recommend!!!

My husband and I came here in hopes to enjoy a nice AYCE sushi lunch. Our favorite AYCE sushi place in Rockville closed down, so we figured let's try Yuraku. The staff were very nice and the food was okay, but to be honest the setup of the buffet stations was beyond disgusting. I'm honestly not quite sure how the reviews are so good and how they are still open. The tongs were dirty and you basically use the same tongs to grab sushi rolls and food, so there is a lot of cross contamination between cooked and raw foods. The staff switched out the tongs bucket, but it's hard for patrons to know which one is used and which is clean..If you like self-serve and don't mind the possibility of getting sick or a possible parasite, you might enjoy this place.Unfortunately, we will not be going back. I hope this review helps another person or family to not be fooled by the great reviews/pictures like we did...

When I wanted to have sushi, this was my first choice. I came several times before, always on Saturdays for the lunch buffet. I really enjoyed it. So, when I craved for sushi a couple of weeks ago, I came again on Saturday, 03/09/2024. The good thing was that they started serving buffet everyday. They used to only have buffet during lunch on Saturdays. The not so good thing was the taste of their sushi had gone down. Did they change the rice? I still give a 4-star review just in case it was my taste that had changed, but I will not be back anytime soon.

Usually David and I don't share the same days off, and if we do, it's on a Monday when Yuraku isn't open. So for a while now, we've been saying that we wanted to go to Yuraku when we both get a day off during the week. Finally, we both decided to take a Tuesday off and it was time! So David has been many times in the past, but this was my first and I was so excited! Sushi buffet?! Who wouldn't be! I was surprised how busy it was on a random Tuesday lunch, but I guess lots of area businesses may have employees coming for their lunch break. We were greeted by staff and offered tea and miso soup. I do love miso and tea with my sushi meal, so I appreciate this nice touch. The lunch buffet options were pretty solid, although I'm not the biggest fan of sushi with cream cheese in it personally, and there were a decent amount of those. Also, both the rolls and nigiri (which is on the top above the sushi rolls, I didn't even notice it the first time around!) have A LOT of rice. Like I'm talking a thick, glutinous layer of rice. There's even a sign by the buffet asking customers to please try to eat the rice with the sushi and not just discard the rice, which I thought was funny. I did appreciate the non sushi options, while I realize this is a sushi establishment, I'm kind of a sucker for sides. They had japchae, fried rice, and this steamed egg with fake crabmeat which I really liked. The downside was the price - it came out to around $26 per person. A little steep in my opinion, especially when apparently it used to be $14 back in the day. Overall, not a bad lunch and probably nice to try once but for the price, can't say it was absolutely worth it.

The lunch buffet was the perfect way to sample all the best menu items at Yuraku. We tried all of the sushi rolls, which were fres, the japchae, spicy pork, barbecue chicken, and tempura varieties. Everything was delicious and filling! The price was super reasonable as well.

We went for the sushi lunch buffet and we were not disappointed. I would say signs would go a long way in clearing up any confusion, or even two buckets for tongs would vastly improve my experience. But there were a lot of folks who were regulars that helped guide new people like me. Definitely a well-priced sushi buffet. I am excited to go back for dinner some time to try more specialty rolls.Wheelchair accessibility: Very tight space, there would not be a way to access the buffet in a wheelchair

Even though it is a small Japanese buffet, the food is delicious, and service is good.
