I'm new to the Eastern Shore, but this is where my new friends took me for dinner. It is a wonderful place, especially on a spring evening out on the deck. The food is delicious, the crab cakes are wonderful, but the crab imperial is even better. This is where ai bring all my visitors now.

My fiancé and I stopped at The Narrows for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. We were seated quickly at a 2-top in the dining room extension which overlooks the water.I ordered the seared tuna poke salad and she ordered the fried oyster caesar salad. My salad arrived looked delicious. However, with my first bite I tasted a "fishy" taste that I have never tasted with any poke dish that I've eaten before. I tried to power through but found it very unappetizing. I asked my fiancé to try it to gauge my perception since we both eat a lot of sushi and poke. She was immediately turned off as well. Her caesar arrived with 5 large fried oysters. The romaine lettuce however contained a large number of pieces of the very bottom of the leaf stalk - a portion that should always be discarded. The service was fair. The waiter was present but lacked sense of energy or enthusiasm.Overall it was a disappointing start to our Eastern Shore weekend.

Finally tried this place after a friend of ours kept posting it on Facebook. 60 miles away but we were not disappointed. We got there about 35 min earlier than our reservation time because of unpredictable beltway traffic coming from NoVA. We were happy to see they had Happy Hour on Sunday in the bar so had a couple of drinks and fried oysters and their crab "tart" (basically a flatbread). Fried oysters were delicious!!! Hot, crispy, great fresh oyster flavor. The flatbread was surprisingly good (I wouldn't have ordered it based on the description but my husband wanted it and it was on the Happy Hour menu). There was plenty of lump crab meat that didn't taste fishy at all. For dinner, we had crab gazpacho and cream of crab soup. Both very good. Gazpacho was just a tad sweeter than I'm normally used to but still enjoyed it. Cream of crab soup was rich and delicious. They give you a small bottle of sherry to pour onto the soup (as much or as little as you like). Husband said bread was good. I love fried green tomatoes so we ordered that. That was the only real disappointment of the afternoon. It was really oily and soggy. Not crispy and not a lot of the garlic aioli. We didn't finish it even though I typically LOVE fried green tomatoes. We were getting kind of full at this point so we decided to split the wedge salad and added the fried oysters as a topping option because it was so good. The waitress offered to have the order split for us which was definitely nice and we didn't even ask for it. She was attentive, prompt but not intrusive. GREAT service in the bar and out on the deck. REALLY great service! Back to the wedge salad. It was good but the dressing seemed a little watered down from the lettuce being too wet or maybe the dressing is that watery. Wish the bacon bits were a little bigger and not tiny crumbs. I didn't see a lot of blue cheese crumbles or bacon on the salad. But again, the fried oysters were a perfect size (not too big or too little and very fresh tasting). Husband also wanted fries (which were very crispy and hot!). All in all we thought it was worth the 60 mile drive for the service and especially the fried oysters!!!

Our first time visit. Our dinner was very good and well seasoned. We only didn’t like the chocolate bread pudding which taste more like a brownie, than traditional bread pudding that you might be used to . The service was great . We was seated right away. Restaurant sits on the water so you can have beautiful water views

Gorgeous views and a great Easter brunch menu. Definitely a good move to make a reservation no matter the time on big holidays like this - the line was out the door! They’re famous for their crab soup and crab cakes, and for good reason. But the smoked salmon dip is nothing to sleep on!

My husband and I went to the narrows for something lite. We were excited to sit on the deck facing the water. A beautiful view. It was warm out. It took apx 20 mins to be waited on but we were fine. Our waitress apologized and was very sweet. Apx 30 min later she came with my soup and the burger was not up yet. By this time the sun was going down and it was getting cold. We decided to go in and have the food packed up. We had explained we needed onions on side when ordering because he cannot eat them. At this point we had been waiting over an hour. We paid the bill and went to the hotel. The burger was full of onions. Fry’s cold and hard. I called and explained and they offered to make another. Up to this point I was ok. Stuff happens. They never offered anything just brought us the bill. I was not looking for free but really it was not good between the wait and food situationI go to get the burger and the hostess had a bad attitude. I looked at food and questioned about the fry’s. She said we already gave them to you once.Ok. Really. 20 dollar burger. I asked for the managers number and the hostess said I could talk to her. She did give me fry’s.I explained again and then just left. Anyone that knows me would know I NEVER say anything bad on Google. I understand. People have bad days. Kitchens get busy. bUT. Being spoken to like that over a burger. Really.I have been before with good service. I am still just speechless. My plan honestly was to buy dessert when I went over to get the burger.
