We were in town to see Jim Breuer at the Maryland Theatre and stumbled onto Meinelschmidt Distillery during a St Patrick's day event. They had a handful of whiskey, bourbon, vodka and gin to choose from. They also had some whiskey jello shots for the St Pats event, which were delicious. The atmosphere was quite relaxed with a series of hightops and tables to sit at as well as a bar (obviously). You can actually see the distillation column still through the windows for a sneak peek into what they are processing. I enjoyed an old fashioned while my wife had a schmidty which was cranberry juice, peach and blackberry liqueur that we both enjoyed. The bartender was easygoing and kept us entertained the entire time and provided some history of the area. They did not have food, except for pre-packaged nuts, but it's a distillery, so I can't fault them on that. Besides, there's a restaurant within the same building. I enjoyed the bourbon enough to pick up a bottle. It's a smooth drinking bourbon that can be enjoyed neat or made into and old fashioned (as it is in the attached image). I highly recommend stopping by this place if you're in the area.

Paid $25/person in advance to attend NYE event. Yes there was a mediocre band, no dancing and no drinks included! Options of drink choices ran out by 9 pm, and soon the limited ' conference room' style of appetizers . Drinks were not even discounted. Since tickets bought in advance- they could have planned ahead better

We arrived to a nearly empty bar, just the bar tender and one patron. Others arrived as we sat, but Morgan (our bartender) had plenty of time to answer all of our questions and talk sports with my husband. We had a flight of whiskey, a mule, a Godfather (their number one drink) and a beer that was on tap from Hub something. Can't remember the name. My husband loved the wheat whiskey and the Maryland Rye (enough to buy the Rye). The bar itself was made from a hammered copper, nice vibe. There were table games set up throughout the bar in preparation for their new year celebration. The place is in the old Masonic temple building, we were told, and is attached to the parking garage. Easy access and near the theatre and the new stadium. We will be back!!

Great distillery right downtown! We had the whiskey flight and all were delicious - the rye, cinnamon and honey ones were our favorites. The drinks were great - you can even choose your bitters - they have a wide selection. The bartender was very knowledgeable and made good recommendations. And the owners were present and friendly. This spot is very charming - will be back!

We decided to pop in after a show at the Maryland Theater. The tasting room was small but had quite a few seating areas and there were games available such as Jenga and connect four should you wish to play while enjoying your drinks. As we were driving home after this we opted to share a tasting of 3 of their whiskeys; the cask strength, the cinnamon and honey, although they had a great cocktail menu. There was only person working which I thought was bad planning on their part but he was very quick and efficient and I didn't have to wait long to be served, maybe 10 minutes. The whiskeys were all good, the cinnamon being the favorite of the three of us. It was great to see the Veteran Remembrance table set up in the corner. I highly recommend a visit to this place and it's conveniently located by the parking garage in the courtyard of Bulls and Bears.

Stopped in to check this place out and wasn't disappointed. If you like whiskey, this is a good place to visit. They have cocktails and other options made from their vodka as well so there's a decent variety. I had a flight and the "not my gumdrop buttons" and my girlfriend had the passion fruit Cosmo and a lemon drop. There were also games out on some tables to play with, so I recommend stopping in.
