We really like this place for its German food and atmosphere. It brings us flashbacks to gaust houses in Germany. Check out the photos. The food is delicious as is the beer they have on tap. Finally, the service is excellent. If you are looking for that German place, this is it. It is hard to find a good German dining experience.

Worst food ever. Sauce on the meat was utterly bad. Spätzle no taste and dry as wood. I spit it out, paid and left. Never again.Once you eat out in Germany, you'll realize what Schmankerlstube serves you is not how it should be. They just using german names to make money.

Had dinner here with a coworker and client one night during my week-long stay in Hagerstown. By far the best restaurant in town. Wonderful atmosphere, great service, and delicious food. Luckily, they had availability that night for a walk-in but is suggest calling for a reservation in advance just in case. I will definitely stop by again on my next trip to Maryland.

Never disappoints! I’ve been going to this restaurant for years. The food is always delicious and well prepared. The staff are always friendly and inviting. As for the atmosphere it takes me back to places I’ve visited in Germany. A must stop!Parking: I’m not from the area so I park along the same side of the street just past the restaurant. I’ve came at different times on different days and have never had an issue. The meter’s are free after 5pm. At least at the time of this posting.

The food and service was excellent! Highly recommend Schmankerl Stube when dining in Hagerstown. Instead of a dessert menu, the hostess brought to the table a whole platter of choices!

We happened to be in Hagerstown and found this restaurant on line that had good ratings serving German food which we had not had in a long time, so this was our first time there. Great food, wish I had taken a picture of my meal, great service from Rachel. Worth it for us to make the hour drive to go back.

This place doesn't look as inviting on the outside, but inside is impeccably clean and very german looking. I absolutely love the food, and the service is also traditionally trained.Unfortunately, I gave up drinking, but they have great choices for German beers and fare.Will definitely make this another destination again soon. It's not the cheapest place, but you get what you pay for.

This restaurant is phenomenal. Having spent quite an amount of time in Germany, I can honestly say this place is straight out of Baveria or the northern alps. It is definitely the best in Maryland and possibly the best one on the Eastern seaboard. It's a must-visit!

Things here were good. I liked the meal I got and all the staff were nice. I was there for a party so we had our own room upstairs. I can't help but feel that the prices are a little too high for what you got. Again nothing was bad and I'd go back.
