Today I went here and bought the stew chicken dinner with plantains, rice and peas and cabbage. The staff were friendly and greeted me when I first walked in. It is nicely lit inside and the food was displayed so you can see what options are available. I looked at the food and it didn't look appealing, but I said I'll give this place a try since I am on the hunt for finding a Jamaican food restaurant in the DM area that I like. I ordered the stew chicken dinner and it was not all that tasty. The chicken was lacking salt, the rice and peas were ok, but the plantains were dry and the cabbage wasn't seasoned well. When I sat at the tables inside, they weren't cleaned and there was food all over them. I wouldn't recommend this location for authentic, well seasoned Jamaican food.

Hubby and I were on our quest to find a new caribbean spot after eating at a popular one in DC for so long. We found them gem tucked away in a quiet shopping center. We got there first thing in the morning as they were setting the food out. We were greeted with a warm welcome! We got the Oxtail, Curry Chicken, Curry Chicken Roti, and some beef patties. The food was sooooooo good! Oxtail was fye! Gravy was so delicious. Curry Chicken reminded my hubby of his Nana’s from Trinidad's! Portions were big and it was an overall great lil spot. Will be stopping by again!
I don't like to post bad reviews if things aren't terrible. The food wasn't terrible but it was just sooooo bland. No flavor. No taste. We tried the curry goat and jerk salmon. Both were just ridiculously bland. We've had lots of curried dishes both in the states and throughout the Caribbean including Jamaica. This was so bland. Not bad but bland. My biggest pet peeve is when restaurants thi k making super spicy food makes it Jamaican. This didn't have any heat at all. Hardly any salt. Again not a bad taste just no real taste at all. Oh and the rasta pasta again was also bland. Like Jamaican food for a nursing home. Probably will not return.

Oxtail extremely disappointing. Not made by a Jamaican. The cut of the oxtail was 90% fat. Cook was nice but really lacked flavor. Not worth the price .... Lacking flavor

The Customer Service is outstanding! The lady was so nice to me and I had a lot of questions since it was my first time there. Let me tell you the goat, fried dumplings, and callaloo was AMAZING!! Love this place! Will be back!
Like this is extremely ridiculous…. I tried to check this place out again considering they’re close … I was extremely disappointed in the amount of cheapness they give when it come to food. Like seriously , I’m use to NYC and DC where they fill the plate. This place will give you a plate full of rice , three dried up plantains and a few pieces of oxtail. If I wanted a plate full of rice I would have ordered that, like people are giving you , their money to be satisfied.. this is a rip off and I’m done going there. I’m def going to Junction next time where they cater . I’m over this place , NEVER AGAIN

I really don’t know about this place. I came here about a year ago and brought some Curry chicken . The food was okay … However, I didn’t like the lack of customer service so I decided to not spend my money there again. However, I went back today for the first time in almost a year, first off idk if it was the grand daughter or grandson but again the customer service was bland . I ordered the oxtail , rice and peas , which is about $20 I believe. Now what I don’t like is , they make your plates in the back where you can’t see it . Chilllle , I told the young girl , let me see that plate , it looked like a plate for a 4 year old . About 4 pieces of Tasteless oxtails with hardly any meat and it was kind of tough. There was no gravely on the rice and peas and only two plantains ( Really TF) Anyhow, I asked the girl for a little more oxtails and she gone tell me I need to pay more . I was disappointed in the service and the overly expensive child plate . I promise you , I will be going back to Judy’s or Junctions cause this was unexceptable . Please stop robing ppl and giving them scraps

I haven't been to this place in awhile, so I figured I would check them out today. I was not happy at all, I ordered a large oxtail with rice and peas and cabbage. They only gave me 4 small pieces of oxtail and the cabbage was hard and tasteless. I didn't realize this until I got to work. If it wasn't for me having to work I would have taken it back. If that was a large I can only imagine what a small looks like. The young lady that served me was nice.

I really hate to give this place a bad review because the food here is really good. And being African , I really just enjoy how flavorful the food is . HOWEVER, I really love when the owner is there other than that I don’t like giving this place my money. I went here today with my spouse, I was excited for the food because it’s good and I’m 5 months pregnant and starving . I was upset today at the lack of customer service here today with the young girl and the guy here, no smiles , no greetings , just nothing on top of that , I asked her not to put the scraps of curry goat in my plate , and instead of her getting a new pan , she said to the guy “ Can you do this “ and then he proceeded to find every piece of little scrap he could find to put in my plate . The food isn’t cheap these days , so at least fix the plate accordingly, it’s bad enough that customer service is bad. Smh I hope it gets better

In love with the authentic Jamaican cuisine. Jerk wings and jerk pork are to die for! Staff is also very friendly. Definitely a go to spot!
