This is where we need to go! Small business owners who make genuine food from the heart. I had the opportunity to meet the wonderful owner Ruby. She was a gem. And she has a gem that she serves to the community. I appreciated that she gave me a moment to speak while it was slow to share the history of where she came and where her and her team are going. This is a fairly new business, has not been open for more than a year. To everyone in the community far and wide. Whether you're black, Latino, native, blue, orange, or however you identify, it doesn't matter! Come and enjoy this soulful food. She was so welcoming and the warm welcome and how she explained the dishes to me, delivered an experience that I will never forget. I wish her and her team much success ??.Now, into the food -Pupusas (chicken and cheese) -10/10Coleslaw- 9/10 (It's new for me. But I like it. Need to try more.Plantains - 8/10 (Everyone likes plantains different. So I'm sure they'd be a 10/10 if I'd communicated that I like them fried hard.Yuka w/meat and coleslaw- 10/10! Wow! I have never had this dish before but the flavors. The seasoning to perfection.Overall - Maria's is more than pupusas. There's some history, there are always stories, and there is plethora of food. On the weekends, this spot is said to have over 400-600 patrons that come out to enjoy the food, the atmosphere and the service. This business also does catering.(I was not paid for this review. I walked in curiously after being served old food from the sub China shop across the street and had to throw the food away. And Maria's stood out like a bright light into a new dimension. And what wonderful things I got to see. And a beautiful person I got to meet.)

I bought corn and rice pupusas But unfortunately I don't recommend them at all. It hurts to say it but I hope they raise awareness and don't sell this using the name pupusas since I don't even know what name I would give to that.1 out of 10 the rating of these pupusas.

I was raised in this neighborhood of Riggs Park with little to no healthy food options besides Giant grocery. I discovered Maria's while briefly living in Columbia Heights NW. Maria's 2 is the new version in my lifelong neighborhood. All food is homemade all natural ingredients and amazing. Maria is a warm hearted woman that will treat you like family. She is your mother, your aunt, your families best cook. The tacos are my absolute favorite with fresh avacados and a homemade sauce to die for. I get the tacos every time. I also love the beef soup, vegetable soup, and fresh horchata drinks. I go no where else for tacos. I can buy the beef soup in bulk. These people cater as well. The best. Muchaa graciaaa

Some of the best pupusas I've had so far, first time having horchata and it was great too.. the woman who took my order was beyond kind, loving, and attentive. Definitely going again

We ordered pickup from Pupuseria Maria II and it was delicious! Going in, it had a sweet family operation vibe going on. While the exchange was pretty quick, it was absolutely endearing. I plan to order from them again. :-)

So good!!! I love this place! I always eat Pupusas in Gaithersburg MD but this place is sneaky. The salad is delicious too! For $2.00 a Pupusa you cannot beat the price and the quality they give

Wow!!! This place is sneaky!!! It's close to the 7 Eleven and if you are a Pupusa business hunter like me? Then you have to try this place! Looks are deceiving and I love hole in the wall restaurants because they are always the best! I recommend calling ahead because we did have to wait 15 mins for it to be made but the lady that runs that shop was super nice and friendly! Great customer service. Let's get on to the food. These pupusas were delicious!!! $2.00 each too! I had to ask her where she was from and she said Honduras. So I'm eating Honduran Pupusas! They taste different and so delicious. All I been eating are the ones from Gaithersburg but they are not touching this place. I will definitely come back here! I saw other peoples plates in the restaurant and they said they love the food here too! Place this in your bookmarks if you are in Hyattsville MD.

The purposes are great and extra crunchy the way I like it personally. The horchata taste like it's made from God's own hands LOL. I will just say that the pupusa cabbage that goes with it needed a bit of salt and sauce. But other than that it was great
