I stopped getting acai bowls at Playa Bowls. Erythritol is used in the acai base. It has been linked to an increased risk of heart attacks and strokes, although more research is needed. I'd rather not be a member of the ongoing research.Noise level of their blenders is very high. Annoying when eating there. Employees don't wear hearing protection. I would give it no stars. I had an infuriating experience at the Kensington Playa Bowls location. Despite being a loyal customer who loves the Bethesda branch, the service at Kensington was appalling. Specifically, one employee, Denise, with her black curly hair, was shockingly rude. We ordered five bowls, and the incompetence began immediately. Not only did they forget peanut butter for one bowl, which we had already paid for, but Denise flat out refused to fix the mistake. Instead, she rudely dismissed us and continued to gossip with her coworkers. Her utter lack of professionalism and disrespectful behavior left me fuming and without a complete order. Playa Bowls seriously needs to reconsider who they let represent their brand at this location because it's tarnishing their reputation. unless there is a revaluation on the employees I will not be returning to Playa Bowls

Very upset about my experience here. I drove a bit far to get here. I’ve been to another location and it was not like this. Both bowls were frozen it was hard to eat. Açaí bowls are supposed to be like a smoothie, blended.
