I’ll start by saying Il Gusto Ristorante is the best restaurant in the county. It’s a small, intimate gem tucked away in La Plata. They make their pasta fresh and it’s evident that they care about what they’re plating. The dishes are traditional Italian, so if pasta’s not what you’re craving, there are a number of other dishes to try. The staff is superb and is one of the reasons we’ll be returning. Ricardo is worth the trip; he’s enthusiastic about the food, describing everything on the menu and making you feel as if you are his top priority. The meal is delivered at a nice pace, giving you time to chat and really appreciate each dish. I had the lasagna; it was perfectly flavored and better than any I’ve ever had. Our table also had a bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon which paired nicely with our meal. I’m looking forward to returning in the near future and will be recommending this restaurant to all my friends and family.
Very charming. It was an unplanned visit. I wish I was in business attire instead of casual. Very attentive service and delicious food. Attention to detail made the whole experience feel special.

The BEST Italian food in Southern Maryland! The pasta is hand-made and tender. The flavors are sublime. The service is excellent. The atmosphere transported us back to an outdoor cafe in southern Europe. We can't wait to go again. This is our favorite special occasion and romantic meal place.
