My friends and I were looking for somewhere to grab food in the area, and GQ Palace Restaurant & Lounge was one of the only options that opened until late (2am).Definitely keep in mind that this is a lounge/club, so if you plan on being able to talk while dining in the evening - this may not be the option that you want to go with. The service was very very slow… There was some slight confusion with the waitress when our table gave our order - but luckily we were able to iron it out before the food arrived. It could have been that we were super hungry - but the food did seem to take a long time to come out. We decided that was likely a good thing as it meant it was being freshly prepared ??‍♀️.Overall the Suya was tasty, and the pepper sauce served on the side was actually a good spice level. The Nwkobi (cow feet) was tasty - and it had been a while since I’d had it, so that was a pleasant surprise. My friends had the Fried Rice and Goat Soup and they both agreed that it was tasty.I wish I had checked the bill properly before paying… I wasn’t aware of the 15% additional service charge added to each bill. Maybe if I had known that I wouldn’t have added such a generous tip.Overall, the music and food was good. But it was super duper loud and the service could be improved a lot.

This place could potentially be good if they turned the music down. You cannot have a conversation due to the volume.

The management is too bad, they imposed 15% on all bills, take a look at the bill they bring to you and they will tell you it’s a Maryland law. It’s not a place to go, they are criminals.

Scammers, please read till the end of the menu. They are hiding the fact that, u have to pay gratuity. I will not recommend this place.

While I appreciate the late night hour and clean venue, this place left a lot to be desired. Firstly, dishonest bartenders that didn’t bother to let us know about the discounted drinks ( we learned on our way out). Secondly, drink prices that matched DC and NYC in GREENBELT middle of nowhere MD. Thirdly, empty venue so I wasn’t even paying for the socialization of it all. While I plan to give this place a second chance due to the fact that my girls and I had a time ( however mediocre the venue was ), I’m really hoping I have a different experience so that I can delete this review . Until then …

Came from out of town for our Anniversary in search of the night clubs and some amazing food. This place is way too high for the quality they provide. From the drinks to the food very disappointing. 5 wing dings $14.99 when the whole bag is less than that lol. Anywho, we were served by a woman named Flo who was very appreciated for trying to make sure we had an amazing experience. The portions of the food is one I have never experienced I can’t stress that enough. HIGH PRICED DRINKS THAT WERE NOT SO GOOD. Good luck to this place tho, some work is needed but the service of Flo was the only thing we appreciated.

Owner does not honor contracts. Customer base has informed me that he has scandalous affairs with multiple persons and does not honor his commitments. Nigerian community states the place is always empty. And needs improvement in order to attract better clientele. Must address immediately or the service of the community will continue to complain.

This place is right next to my barber shop, so I've known about it for quite a while. From the outside it doesn't look like much... I first went one random evening during the pandemic because I wanted to try and support a new place. I got dinner from there... and since I live right next door, I decided to just order in person instead of calling ahead. The place has the biggest club / lounge vibes! They got the lights, music, everything. But it was so empty! Anyways, I got jollof rice and chicken. It was good... I particularly remember enjoying the rice! Fast forward to a while later, I exited the barber shop and saw a sign about 2-for-1 happy hour. I told a nearby friend and we decided to check it out one day. The vibe was the same, but the bar.... mixers were lacking, they hardly used ice, and as such the drinks did not turn out well at all. For most of it, I basically had to tell the person exactly how to make the drinks. They didn't even have rum... it was really weird! That was off-putting, and I haven't been back since... but when I do go, I want it to be on a weekend night so I can see how they really get down. I wanna see what the crowd is like there. I'll update after that.
