Visited during Happy Hour. Service was really good. Food was good, margaritas we're good as well.

The inside of this restaurant was nicer than I expected. The decor is more trendy than a typical Tex-Mex restaurant, for example the interesting rope light fixtures and a fun neon sign reminding you to drink tequila. The menu is unique, more in the fusion category, definitely not a typical Mexican restaurant menu. There are lots of shareable small plates (I liked the steak appetizer and ceviche). While the food was not bad, it was lacking spices and flavor, and the guacamole was disappointing - bland and watery. The drinks were wonderful. They made the margaritas perfectly, with no sour mix or artificial tasting flavors, and good tequila. The spicy guava margarita was my favorite, well balanced and not too sweet.

They must be afraid of seasoning. The empanadas are decent but small and only two for the price. The steak is tender but unseasonably. The fajitas are mostly pepper skins. Don't date get tge sweet potato as they are 3 pieces of boiled potato with no seasoning at all. The margaritas are decent but you can't taste the flavored versions so you can save the extra money and get regular. We had strawberry, mango and passion fruit. The wings seem like the grocery frozen brand, very processed. The chips and salsa are fine but are no longer free. We asked if they still provided them complimentary and were surprised for a $5 charge on the bill. The side of guacamole was very small, nothing comes with cheese or sour cream, which is more essential with bland food. The shrimp were a good size and tender but don't expect more than 3 to 5.

Nice interior, food was good but overcharged, great drink menu, but lack of service. After waiting for an hour for our food I'm just disappointed and tired. People are the bar wouldn't even look at me while I went over to try to talk to them. Took a long time to get our waiter back, found out the waiter didn't hear one of the party's order. It wasn't busy there (~3 full tables and empty bar) why did it take so long to get assistance? Please let your staff know to be more present. I felt cast to the corners and left there. Not coming back.Vegetarian options: Labeling for vegetarians/vegans could be better (only item explicitly labeled is guac??) ... but I appreciate the attempt. For future guests, I recommend adding a side of beans to the veggie tacos as a protein substitute.

Might be one of the best spicy margaritas out there! Knew it was going to be a good sign of things to come and the food was excellent! We easily over indulged but it was worth it!

I came to Chi'bal for the first time on a Monday afternoon for happy hour and the space is nice and the staff was friendly and attentive even as it got more and more packed. As a big fan of sangria, I was disappointed by their sangria. The liquor used was a bit strong and took away from the flavor. My friends also ordered the Cadillac margarita. We saw how much liquor was used to make it and it was a lot! lol So if you're in the mood for a shareable drink that packs a punch, this might be the drink for you (and a friend)! Everything else was pretty standard, good but not necessarily special or spectacular. I enjoyed the steak fajitas and it was a decent portion - enough to share. Other than the great service, my favorite part was the churros!

Ordered pasta found a long hair and they didn’t give me a refund. I will add picture of the hair . My hair was in a bun and I’m a local I come here all the time and kinda sucks I wasn’t able to get a Refund. I also heard the gentleman in the back saying in Spanish on the speakerphone while I’m on the phone and he stated in Spanish “she’s lying”. In an aggressive tone I don’t understand how the managers are upset that I had hair in my pasta Instead of them, trying to fix the problem. He also said how he won’t give me a refund. Thanks for the professional customer service. Be very careful always check your food I’m guessing they aren’t wearing hairnets or hats to protect fromHair falling in. This problem could’ve been easily fixed but instead it’s not. I will not be coming back here after this I hope everyone sees this review. Why would anyone lie about a black nasty hair being in their food. Not only do I feel disrespected but embarrassed that the gentleman was being rude on the phone. Thanks for reading the review.

This might have been the worst Mexican experience I've ever had in my life. The food was terrible. The service was terrible. The drinks were terrible. The restaurant was dead. The ambience was off. I felt like I was in an old hotel lobby during the middle of Covid. That was the vibe. The staff was nice, but everything took forever. And, the food was nowhere near good. It was barely edible. In fact, the food made both myself and my partner sick that night and the next day. I absolutely would not recommend. It was dead on a Tuesday. That says a lot.

Shrimp tacos were delish. Friendly and fast service. Sat at the bar which was fine except the tv was set to a screensaver.

Been wanting to try this place for years. The food quality is good, the meats were cooked nicely, but there was little to no flavor. We had crab fondue, mixed fajitas, and salmon with sweet potato and beans. The salmon probably had the best flavor but not saying much. Again, all meats were cooked
