Walked into what appeared to be a nice establishment. As soon as you walk in there’s a sign that says hostess will seat you but after waiting about 10 mins we decided we’d seat ourselves. Fast forward 15 minutes still not even an acknowledgment that we were even there!! No hostess nor waitress greeted us!! Needless to say I decided to leave so I don’t know what there food taste like cause I wasn’t even offered as much as “hi I’m Jane I’ll be your waiter can I get you started with a water or something?” And no they weren’t crowded there was a good maybe 30 people in the building not counting the staff!

Went for Karaoke Tuesday ?. It was a great time. Bartenders are not stingy with the drinks at all.

This is definitely a 5 star ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ restaurant. If you are looking for authentic delicious food then this is the spot. The ambience alone is exquisite and posh with a style that effortlessly displays luxury. The food at this gem ? gives me a vibe that this restaurant merged the beautiful diversity of African food with a fusion of French cuisine and American ?? Soul Food, marinating together to create an EPIC taste exciting all your taste buds. I went there for the first time in April 2023 for the X-Maleya concert and was blown away by the atmosphere, customer service and food. The drinks were excellent, portion sizes were great and appropriate for their prices and I tried escargot ? for the first time and it was finger-licking good. The salmon, spinach and fried plantains were EXCELLENT. I even met the owner, Jimmy, who was a pleasure to speak with. If you like class, luxury and top notch EVERYTHING, then this is a great spot to dine in by yourself, to bring friends/family to when they come to visit or simply come to make friends/connections.

When I went, it was laid back, DJ with good music, wings were great, and it was a friendly atmosphere, good vibes.Vegetarian options: There are many meatless options and the food there is great.

My first and last time at this restaurant.I ordered a jollof rice with suya. The meat was kind of hard and the rice tated like lamb/goat. I told the waitress I didn't like how the rice tated and the meat was a little bit hard. The waitress took my food and took it to the kitchen. Then the owner came out and was mad at me for sending the food back and expected me to eat it regardless because she can't throw that food away. When I refused to eat it and told her it didn't taste right she told me to never come back to her restaurant nor order any food as I will not be served again. I have had suya and jollof rice many times before and this is the worst suya and jollof rice I have ever had!!!Hands down one of the worst customer service to clients and I will never come back!!!

Please consider thinking twice before you go to this place (evening hours) especially if you value your rights to safety and well being. First of all, the security is some trash and worthless. They let anyone in their place without any security checks whatsoever (all thugs are welcomed in). I had an altercation with this filthy a** dude who approached my partner inappropriately in which it escalated and I got attacked therefore I defended myself but before I knew it I was being punched and dragged out of the establishment then body slammed to the ground head first by the bouncer/security. The impact of the body slam concussed me and caused me to have a severe ankle injury. After being outside the establishment I was again attacked by the same person I had an altercation with inside the club in which he s***** punched me and threatened to shoot me. The fake a** bouncer/security did nothing to protect my well being after injuring me. Not to mention, they allowed that street scum bag back in the club. JB's have no respect for the safety of their patrons. I will never go there again, it's nothing but a low class hood-rat bar. Sincerely Patrick S.

My wife and I have been going to the buffet next to JB's place, but never really given it a thought until today 2/07/2023.The good:The food hands down. My wife had the Suya and she was pleasantly surprised about how good it tasted. Her fries were fresh and crunchy. I had the Ndole, a little spicy for my taste but delicious nevertheless. The bobolo and the plantains were perfect. The service was great too. Turns out our waitress Jessica was also from Cameroon where I'm from. She was friendly and attentive. The bad:They say "sit yourself," but yet no one is there to attend to you once you sit down. We almost walked out before I decided to ask the bartender what the process was to get service. That's when we finally got Jessica. The other thing was the bathroom. It looks clean including the floor except when you step on it. It was sticky. And that's all I'm going to say about that. The ugly:When we got the bill, there was a 12% service charge added to it. After inquiring, I found out that not only it's added right off the back, but it doesn't even go to THE SERVER. I wonder who provided the service ?. Then I was told the notice is at the front. Couldn't find it on my own even with the help of my wife. Jessica came to the rescue and showed us a piece of regular printing paper pinned on the wall behind the bar. With the knowledge that the server Jessica wasn't going to receive the service fee, I had to tip her separate. Total tip cost $23 on a $71 bill. The other thing is that the fee shouldn't kick in until after 8. Now, we placed our order sometime after 7. Because the final bill was printed after 8, well....Didn't know there's some live music with a DJ, so we missed it.In conclusion, I haven't made up my mind about going back or not. Or even recommend the place to anyone. I guess I might have to get the bill printed right after I place the order especially if I might still be there after 8?

Never again! I eat suya from other restaurants a lot...please abeg what is this?! This by far was the worse. Firstly, never in my life have I seen pink medium/rare suya. This was a pick up order. It was literally almost midnight and imagine being hungry af. I decided to take the order back inside to see if they could exchange it or something. I told the waitress the problem and she snatches it and goes straight to the back. A different lady comes back with the same plate so I told her I would just like a refund. She says oh no we can't refund you because we warmed it up for you. I told her I never asked for it to be warmed and that it didn't looked cooked to me...I'd prefer a refund. I literally left the uncooked suya on the counter. It's the horrible attitude and poor customer service for me.

Decent restaurant with good food and a nice atmosphere. Portions were pretty minimal. A $40 meal came with 10 slices of plantains as the side, nothing else. Still that's not too bad. The reason I won't be going back is because they add a surprise 12% service charge to the check. That doesn't even go towards the tip. Why? Simple greed. Also clear that the owners don't want to pay for adequate staff. I went around 6pm on a Saturday night and there was only one server running the bar and all tables. Labor is an expense... Hire more staff, write it off, run your business right!

We had a very little girl as our server. She practically was just there to visit and I don't blame her for helping.Food served was from the day before and the young gurl admitted it. This dod not sound right. Never serve food especially eru that was cooked the day before. My guest was dissapointed and had to send the food back after tasting! Also, hire new staff! You can't have a lil girl serve clients in her casual wear and ofcourse she can't pay attention because it'd not her job.

Im editing this review as i was looming at an old menu still listed on the website:The grilled tilapia was amazing. However, they charged me $24+ with little goat soup so I told them no in the end. Then they gave me a "corrected" receipt but charged me for Mac and cheese that I originally asked for but they hadn't made. The Jollof rice tasted burnt and the plantains were cold, but that fish was dabomb. My lesson in all of this is to make sure I look at the menu prices before ordering smh!

We went on a Tuesday so between the strong drinks and the karaoke we had a ball!

We went to a Halloween party but we didn't eat. I'll take a look at the menu next time. My friend didn't really care for the bartenders. Same drink twice but the second time, it was in a smaller glass.
