So excited about all the great things that are happening with Black Ankle. My husband and I are wine lovers and really have come to love Black Ankle. The wine is seriously the best in Maryland. I am a current wine club member and we recently had the most delightful time visiting your vineyard! Matt was our tasting expert. We learned it was his first time doing the tasting with guests and he is so remarkably knowledgeable, kind, fun and patient. Good customer service is hard to find these days, let alone outstanding! And that is exactly what our experience was!!! He's a great new addition to the team and we cannot wait until our next visit! Thank you!!!!

We were pleasantly surprised. Not used to non wear coast wineries being so good. Too bad they don't ship to Illinois. Our daughter joined the wine club. It was that good. Brought a couple bottles home, and they didn't last. Soooi gooood!

Great atmosphere in a little space. Wines decent but very pricey. Good for small groups and those with a little money to spend. Almost $30 spent for four very small pours of wine seemed excessive. Lots of reds!

Easily one of if not the best vineyards in Maryland. Amazing wine and ambiance are combined with amazing and friendly staff.

Black Ankle is one of the best wineries in the area, it has great wines and a great cheese selection, and the outdoor space is beautiful. The staff is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. They also have food trucks on weekends, one of my favorites was a Peruvian spot with really great sandwiches. Their wines are also great, I'd recommend a tasting at the bar so you can try all of them. My favorites are the Slate 8, Passeggiata, Albarino and the Rolling Hills. There is also ample parking and EV charging (woohoo!).

Love this place so much we became members!!! Wine is just so fresh and delightful. This place is my go to for when my family comes to visit us in MD! Wish they had more food/snacks options but that won't stop me from going!

Wish I could give 0 stars...My WORST winery experience in MD. I'm doing a tour of all MD wineries, and it's been amazing. Till Black Ankle. Seems brown people are not the clientele they want to encourage. Great job at this, Taylor. He talked to my husband, who's white, and completely ignored my son and me. We walked out.I went back and told the manager about our experience, and she offered to 'comp' us something. SERIOUSLY!!!! I wasn't complaining for free stuff. So this will be the MD winery we never taste.

My favorite winery out of three we visited. Good wine, glassware and snacks available. Huge patio to hang out on with your own snacks or their offerings. Also had live music and the oyster truck there!

Disappointing. My wife and I frequent wineries, and we were excited for our first trip to Black Ankle. However, the experience and service are not commensurate with what we expected.Bottomline, we ordered wine and food. We never received our food, and the staff didn't care when the issue was brought up. Ironically, after removing it off out tab with a bare apology, they asked for our table number to "make sure it hasn't been prepared and sent out."Fortunately, fear, not other wine lovers. There are plenty of great wineries in the area, and you can skip this one.

We are overwhelmed with gratitude for the incredible experience we had at Black Ankle Vineyard during our engagement celebration. Choosing Black Ankle as the venue for our proposal and party was the best decision. The dedicated staff, especially Gaby and her coworkers, went above and beyond to make our night unforgettable. From the seamless orchestration of the proposal to the charming tasting room, every detail was perfect. The cozy atmosphere, exceptional food, and delightful wine selection exceeded our expectations. What sets Black Ankle apart is the friendly and professional demeanor of the entire staff, making our celebration truly memorable.Thank you, Black Ankle Vineyard and Gaby Lodge, for transforming our special moment into an unforgettable experience. We eagerly look forward to returning for more cherished memories in the future!

Unfortunately I did not have a great experience, the service or lack thereof, was very poor. My party of 4 seemed to be invisible to much of the staff. When they finally did recognize us after they saw the tension on my face, it seemed to be a bother. Perhaps I wasn't the standard color of clientele they normally get, I'm not sure. Nonetheless, I won't be returning. I did, however, enjoy Linganore Winery!

What a classy spot! We had just come from another winery, five minutes away, and that was a horrible experience so arriving to Black Ankle with a warm welcome, a clean venue, delicious and well curated wines and lovely local selection of snacks was super appreciated.

Great wines and great views! Heard glowing reviews from friends about Black Ankle and finally got a chance to get out there. Staff was great and provided good knowledge of the wines. Was a very pleasant experience and I will return!

This is a wonderful place with great wine. The facility is absolutely top notch and the best wine we had over 2 days of tastings. we did not have a reservation and on a rainy Saturday morning the only spot open was outside seating on their beautiful patio. There is plenty of outdoor seating and a fair amount of indoor but I would suggest making a reservation especially on a weekend. The snippy hostise highly suggested a reservation in the future, but the rest of the team was awesome. The wine was great and after a very special and incredibly informative tour by Dennis who walked us through the tastings and then gave us a tour of the entire property, we understood better why their wine was so much better than some others in the area. The food was OK. Tt was prepackaged of medium high quality but it was a let down compared to the wine and atmosphere. I still am giving this review 5 stars because the wine, facility
