We ordered takeout after it came recommended by a few friends. The meat was good - between the chopped brisket, pulled pork and sausage. The blackberry sauce was a nice finishing touch. My low rating comes from the sides which lacked flavor and missed the mark. The mac and cheese was very wet, and the potato salad needed lots of love. Coleslaw and corn were the better ones of the bunch.

What a wonderful experience! The food was delicious, the restaurant is clean, and the service was impeccable. I can't say enough nice things about this place. If you're lucky, you'll get Chesney as your server!
Fantastic!!! You need to get the Bacon Cheeseburger Dip, dear lord it is fantastic. I had Brisket Sandwich which had the lean brisket. It was tender and moist and perfect amount of smoke. Others had the pulled pork and pulled chicken platters that were also great. The Mac-n-Cheese is the best BBQ place Mac-n-cheese I've ever tasted. Green Beans are also very good. Only miss were the Hushpuppies. Not bad, but not as good as everything else. We will absolutely be back!!!
Hit or miss here. Burger night burger was disappointing, dry and cold as if pre-made. Roll hard and seemed old. No flavor. Pork bbq is good. Potato dishes are basic. Egg rolls are good. Service was good. Tea was good. Best bbq around is Outlaw Bbq in Hampstead. Worth the extra drive.

Unfortunately this place has gone way downhill. I used to love this place prior to 2020. The brisket is poorly done, tough and dry. It should be done lower and slower IMO. The pulled chicken was like wet cat food. Corn bread was dry and flavorless. The house BBQ sauces are decent. Staff has always been great and attentive, so no complaints there. After the last two visits, I can’t return. Nothing on the menu is good- not even the side dishes.
Service was excellent and liked the atmosphere but the food was just average. The Brisket Platter had only 4 slices of brisket and it was dry. Carterque Burger was dry. Kids corn dogs were very greasy. Nachos were good. The others in our party also ordered other beef brisket and pulled pork dishes and also said they were just ok. Maybe it was an off day for them or maybe I’m spoiled with my husband’s own brisket but I was expecting more from the reviews I read.

I've had BBQ in almost every state and while CarterQue isn't the best in the nation, I think it might just be the best in Maryland. This place is head and shoulders above the other places we've tried, and I can honestly say I haven't had better BBQ in the DMV. The sauces were very good as well, though some of them seem to have very similar flavor profiles. The service was excellent and friendly as well - lot's of checking in and my glass was never empty. Definitely going on the 'repeat visit' list.

Me and my family went here today for a family outing I brought my wife with me and she now loves it just as much as we do. The food is amazing the brisket is so tender. The service is fast and efficient. They are very polite. And they stay on top of us. It wasn't too busy when we were there. But I'm sure it does get busy. I would definitely drive 47 minutes any day for this meal.
