It just wasn't a good night. It took the 30 mins to receive our appertizers. I ordered muscles, half of the shells were empty. I informed the waitress who stated she couldn't do anything about and she got the manager. The manager was accommodating and apologetic and said he would take a percentage off. Our waitress was not as attentive as we would have like, especially given the fact that the restaurant was empty. We continuously waved here down for refills on drinks and to take our entree order. When the entree came, it was plethora of garlic in the food which made it inedible for my cousin. It definitely over powered the food. Needless to say we never ate. The manager did attempt to fix the issues, but we left. We spend about 2 hours there and only ate appetizers.Just was not a good experience. The place has a lot of potential

When I arrived and stated my name for the reservation, "Joe" the manager knew exactly who I was from a phone call I'd made days before the event. He kindly introduced himself, and led us to our table. This was just the start of all positive things to follow through-out the night. We ended up having a few extra guests but, no problem...they just simply accommodated us without hesitation! With "Joe" the manager, great food, great service (sorry but, I can't remember our hostess' name), and an awesome live band, our birthday event was simply marvelous! Thanks Stonefish Grill....until the next time!

Was there for lunch. Very quiet with some tvs on. The place was pretty empty like 2 other tables dining. Not sure if it's new or what but ambience and menu did my quite stack up to its name.

We dined in the Bar area because we were told there would be a loud band playing live music in the dining room. I now have a new definition for loud! Even in the "other room" we couldn't speak with each other. TV's with sound on all around (on every wall) and LOUD music. We ordered an appetizer which we were told was the last one in the kitchen and after a 1/2 hour wait (during which other appetizers were served and cleared away) we were told that the appetizer was really sold out (read - it was served to someone else). While they comped 2 desserts to make up for it - it was indicative of the inability to serve their customers properly. We took the desserts to go because we couldn't wait to escape. Food was good but environment was so bad it was hard to enjoy.

The food was good and the staff we're very friendly. Good service. The band however overshadowed all. Although a good band they were way too loud. Could not talk to anyone without shouting. Might be okay as a hot spot, but we were going out for a nice dinner.

Loved the entertainment. The food was amazing. Would be nice if you could have an area to dance and market it that way to get more clientele. Atmosphere beautiful. I would come back but would love to see this place be more like a lounge restaurant. It would do great and you could start charging a cover charge after a certain time. Definitely have potential but need to find other ways for marketing to keep the business floating.

Ben's has been around for a few months or so. It was opened in the carcass of a Five Guys which was pretty short lived. How the only Five Guys in a 6 mile radius failed is kind of surprising. But, none the less, one day I drove by and saw a new sign out front. Let me preface this by saying that there isn't really another place like this in New Carrollton. There are fast food restaurants a plenty and asian/latino carry outs as well. But I hadn't seen any cafe/deli types in the two years I've worked here, so I was really excited to try it! I hadn't tried Ben's until today because it is so hard to get into I actually got into a car accident attempting it.... The trick is to go in the main Hotel entrance (not the one closest to the restaurant) if you're coming from any direction but from MD-450. It says it serves breakfast but when I drive by on the way to work, there are never any cars out front, and there was no one there today. There were little index cards with "I love Ben's" written on them in children's handwriting. So i'm assuming that someone, sometime, has eaten here. The staff was friendly and the cashier was able to give me correct change when I handed her an unconventional amount ($20.25 on a $4.23 check = $16.02) which is always a plus. As for the food? Well, I was disappointed. I ordered a BLT. Which has four main ingredients that should be represented in a certain porportion. -The Lettuce makes up about 15 percent of the total sandwich and the tomatoes another 15 percent: a slice or two is really fine. -Then the bread, two slices with mayo, nothing fancy, but a very important 20 percent of the total package. -But lets be real, the reason you order a BLT is for the Bacon - because you are in the mood to eat BACON. It makes up the lion's share, 50% of the sandwich: I expect like 6-10 crisp slices on any respectable BLT. My Ben's BLT had four slices of tomato, two slices of lettuce, and four pieces of bacon on two thick slices of potato bread. I picked it up and was immediately disappointed. While it tasted good, the porportions were just off. And I was saddened by the lack of bacon. So, all this to say: would I go back? Yeah, possibly. It really is the only option other than Wendy's or Pollo Loco. Especially if they sponsor my school, which I hear they do. I guess I should stop having high expectations ... or make my own BLTs.
