This is our 3rd time coming to this place. The first two times, the avocado smoothie with added boba and crystal boba, and green energy blended drink were made just right. Tonight, it was awful! The green energy drink was watery, tasted like greens blended with water and ice, and had an awful aftertaste. Can’t describe it exactly, just tasted horribly off! In the avocado smoothie, I asked if any of the crystal boba was added, guys says “crystal boba..? You mean clear boba..? Yeah, yeah it’s in there..”My wife opened the drink when she got home and It wasn’t in there.The two stars were for the first two times that we were here. Unfortunately, I think we’re just going to stop at the 3 visits and call it a day.

The staff was very nice and helpful but I bought a bubble tea with brown sugar bubbles at 4:30 in the afternoon and the bubbles tasted as if they had been sitting for 8 hours; they were literally rock-hard, as if they had been refrigerated overnight and then reused the next day. Horrible!

Watery boba. The onigiri is not at all authentic - dry and unseasoned rice, dodgy fillings. The shrimp tempura one was clearly very old, the coating was stale and hard. Disappointed.

The worst boba tea ever. Got 3 drinks 50% sugar in all. Still straight sugar water. We had to throw everything away despite paying $25 for 3 drinks. My fiance and I feel extremely sick afterwards too.

If you've never tried boba tea, please let this be your first. This is the one of the best places I've ever been to, and trust me when I say this, for I have went to tons of places in search for great boba. The place is clean and the workers are friendly. I ordered taro boba tea, crystal boba, aloe jelly, and no ice. That was my usual order.. until I tried the milk foam here. It is perfect! The texture is so nice, the flavor is sweet but not too sweet. I ordered that drink so many times that I can't even count. Another one of my favorites is the brown sugar cloud. Not many places have such cloudy boba that is this delicious.

I wish this place was closer to where I live because I'd be in here all the time. It is consistently good. Got a taro milk tea with aloe and my husband got the brown sugar bubble tea - both delicious although his a bit too sweet for me. As always the onigiris we're delicious. I'll be back again and again because I absolutely love this cute little spot.

I’m addicted to boba I have to drink at least one a day otherwise get withdrawal ? I’ve been to all the boba shops in Rockville and tbaar is definitely one of my fav. It’s a small store and they’re not perfect, I think their music is too loud and they’d mixed up my toppings a couple times. But their boba and tea are consistently high quality, cooked/ brewed fresh multiple times a day, smoothies made of fresh fruits not from frozen bags/ concentrates, clean bathroom, and most of the workers there seem to give a damn to provide quality service and products. All the basic things one comes to expect of a boba shop but so rare to find. They don’t seem to cut corners and I appreciate that. I like my teas with no ice, and cups are always filled to the brim, and they don’t skimp on ingredients for my smoothies. The owner made new drinks for me no problem when I’d told him my toppings were wrong or needed more sugar. He was happy to accommodate and honestly these people are my friends now that I go there so often.Unlike many other boba shops run by school kids, tbaar owner is there 7 days a week from opening to closing. I think I’ve only seen this shop close less than 5 days a year. Late closing is super convenient when I have late night cravings, and I can always find ample parking nearby.I get that many people these days are into brand name shops, with flashy instagram worthy photo spots and all. But I do hope small shop like this survive and thrive because this place has a soul.
