NOTE: If you book for a holiday buffet and you are a party of 2 you will not be set up inside the dining structure but rather they will put 2 tops up against walls.The problem will that is we were next to a speaker that played music. And we had a thermostat on our wall with staff reaching over you to make adjustments.And— people line up for the buffet beside you in the aisle. You wind up having people’s backsides unfortunately next you while you are eating.In our case we also were right next to the kitchen door. The people in back of us were seated against the same wall and had the entrance next to them. Both tables at our wall were gazed upon by diners lining up for the buffet so the dining experience felt very tense. We only stayed long enough to eat a quick meal. No cocktails as we had planned on having a leisurely Easter Meal.Had we known this we never would have come here this Easter. When we asked to have the table moved they said “no, because there weren’t that many only twos dining today”. Well, We counted 8 occupied two tops that some of which could have been incorporated into the main dining space as there was room.We were not offered a reduced price for the meal for such horrible seating so we will never return on a holiday.Ending on a positive note. Having 2 buffet lines made it move quickly.The quality of food offerings was great. And it is very pretty if you get a table in the main dining area.So we will return to dine here at some point. Just never on a holiday.

We really want the restaurants in our community to be successful, so it saddens us to write this review. When we arrived, we were the only customers. No other customers arrived during our entire time there.The hostess was texting but did not acknowledge us until she was finished. We were seated and waited awhile for our waitress. She took our drink orders, brought our drinks, and took our lunch orders. Food came out relatively quickly. So far, so good. We never saw the waitress again, until my wife tracked her down so we could leave. My wife wanted another cup of coffee but neither the waitress nor the hostess ever checked on us. Once again, we were the only customers. We did see the hostess walk through the restaurant a few times. She was laughing and talking on her phone the entire time. Feeling neglected in an empty restaurant seems odd. Is this a staffing issue or a management issue? The food was satisfactory, but in our opinion, pricey for what we had. The restaurant itself is lovely with a beautiful view. It is immaculately clean. We have eaten here several times but aren't sure if we will be back. Today was very disappointing.

The Ocean City AARP held its 2023 Christmas Party at this lovely venue. As the comments from the membership come back, OPYC receives high praise for food, service and atmosphere.The atmosphere is nothing short of beautiful. The room is large, bright and airy. The best is the wonderful water views through large windows. It's such a pretty space no additional decoration is needed beyond, perhaps, table centerpieces. We chose poinsettias. Boom, done! The space as a whole is well laid out with respect to the bar, dining area, buffet lines, restroom and coat storage, etc.Banquet manager Lia knows her business. She helped make menu selection which was a complete hit with the group. She helped work our schedule for the party so it flowed smoothly.The staff was very good, too. Their attention to detail in set up is remarkable; you won't find water marks on your table service. They are efficient and unobtrusive.Our food was was very fresh and delicious. Appetizers included beautiful presentations of cheeses, fruit and vegetables along with passed spring rolls and meatballs. We chose a buffet hot lunch, which we call "Linner" and it included flank steak, salmon and crab cake. The steak and salmon were moist and tasty in light sauces. Since we're local we tend to be snobs about crab cakes and these were a crowd pleaser, very fresh tasting and nicely seasoned.On behalf of the party planning committee, I'd like to thank the Ocean Pines Yacht Club staff for making our party a successful celebration!!

Don't even consider the Thanksgiving Buffet. Absolutely tasteless. Poorly organized buffet, ran out of almost everything. Really sad that there was n pumpkin pie. I have had better food at a hospital.

the service was amazing and the food is equally as good or better. The out side was beautiful especially when the patio lights are on and it was very clean.Kid-friendliness: they have cran’s and kid menus for even picky kids, the servers are all super friendly and easy to talk to.

Not sure why so many low reviews, but our party of 5 had an AMAZING and memorable night - on a Saturday night, no less.Live music.Not too crowded (no wait for our table at 7:45 PM).We were seated with the lovely Sophie (give her a raise - she is just terrific) and were outside and the weather was terrific. Until it wasn't. It started raining. Pouring. The band shut down and they quickly moved us inside.Lovely hostesses (3 ladies - one older "manager" type and 2 younger gals).The drinks? $10 each and so delicious. I had a "Strawberry Troops" which was lemonade and vodka with muddled strawberries and lemon slices. So refreshing and just enough vodka. No weak, but not ass-kicking strong.My man and I both love G&T's - and my fave if I am drinking gin is actually with crushed ice and pink grapefruit juice. So, he ordered - get this:"The Monkey Wrench", (again just $10) with Monkey 47 gin, grapefruit juice, lime juice and tonic. It. was. PERFECTION. (I almost ordered it, too - next time I will). I had a few sips. LOL.The food - honestly - was stellar. Maybe we just lucked out - but everyone in our party of five including a 7-year-old (who had the cheese pizza - basically a flatbread - for $10 off the kiddie menu) loved their food. My friend got shrimp and grits (over scrumptious cheesy-grits - I had a bite - so goo!) and her husband got the "Black & Blue flatbread. My man got a black bean burger and upgraded to onion rings. I snagged 2 onion rings. Heavenly! Not greasy, super hot and sweet and crispy.My food? Honestly... Can't stop raving about it. Cheese tortelloni with shrimp and a bit of lump crab meat (not too much - wish there were more - of course) in a pesto-cream sauce (so rich and delicious) with sundried tomatoes (which normally I don't like - but I ate ALL of these - so sweet and tender - not chewy) and - as if the dish was not rich enough - small diced, crisp pieces of PORK BELLY.Oh, my hips!This was a "special occasion" meal - and too much fat and carbs for a regular thing but WOW was that a good (albeit pricey at $32) plate!The view is amazing.The staff was so kind to us.We loved the drinksWe savored the foodWE WILL RETURN - as soon as we can!

We had our wedding reception in their ballroom and is was the perfect location. Lia and Angie were so helpful - constantly answering all my emails. Lia was truly a rock star - she made us feel more like family than clients - we can not thank her enough for how easy she made the whole process and day of our wedding. If something even remotely went wrong I had no idea. The wedding food was excellent - guest are still talking about it. They even let us do signature cocktails wish were such a hit! Totally recommend having your wedding here for Lia and Angie alone. The stunning views of the yacht club and OCMD were an added bonus.
Great atmosphere and food, but strange and confusing price add-ons. I have been there many times and occasionally strange $1 charges show up on my bill. Order a mixed drink with grapefruit juice and $1 is added to your bill. Order a mixed drink with cranberry juice and no added dollar. Raw onions are also $1 extra. None of this was mentioned when ordering these items by the somewhat inexperienced wait staff.

We tried the yacht club for the 2nd time. The first was lovely, great waitress, good food, ambiance and music. This time we wanted to sit at the outside bar. What a mistake! 3 bartenders for about 8 patrons. One bartender never made eye contact! The other one asked to take menus even though we told her we were planning to order more. She said " You can share! They get wet and messed up!" I told my husband I was not going to order anything else there since we were clearly not wanted! Bartenders should be kind, interactive with customers and have a pleasant personality! These three girls struck out on all accounts! ?

we went to go swimming and it took over an hour for someone to get us a menu and i don’t mind waiting but when i called a server over she was rude and wasn’t as kind as she was with everyone else. i ordered food and and gave her cash, she said ok with a rude look on her face! the food here is amazing and i love coming here to swimKid-friendliness: many kids here and all the guests are so kind
