The staff were friendly and our food came out quick. The decor is a bit dated but it gave it character. The pictures on the walls were fun to look at while we waited for our food. Their crab cakes are just the way I remember those being from g&m. Passing through Baltimore this time I found a different Pappas location that was closer to my hotel. I tried them and yes their crab cakes were fantastic as before. Plus they give you quiet amount of food with that crab cake. I was extremely satisfied.“

It had been a while since I had a good hotdog, like I used to have from Nathan’s in Coney Island when I lived in Bklyn, NY(no relation to MD). I had no idea that when I passed this place during the early mornings, that there was a line that formed around the packed parking lot at lunch time rush. Thst is always a great sign that the food is delicious! The choices of 2 & 3 Hotdogs on a bun had my mind and stomach wanting to try it for myself. My wife and I tried it out and were amazed at how quickly the line moved, everyone was excited as we were to get our orders, and everyone working there was super nice. You could see the regulars, and the newbie’s like us all packed in a long line. The line miced quickly, and the wait was well worth it. Here I am, 2 yrs later, still stopping by, and trying something different every time. They have burgers, fries, cheesesteaks, ice cream shakes, and sundaes. The one hiccup was the seating hostess- we sat at a high top and when asked if we could sit at a low table (clearly there was plenty of room) we were told (curtly) no they were full. I was shocked at the tone so I responded “yeah- I know. That's why I made reservations too”. She walked away so we tried to make ourselves comfortable. She came back and said (curt again) “Ready?” Since we didn't have menus yet I said “for what?” “To move. You asked for another table”. “I blindly put the orange sauce all over my taco papusas and now my mouth is screaming.I came here craving tamales and also ordered the steak taco papusas.The tamales were alright. But I was looking for more of a SoCal Mexican tamale and these were not it. They're small sweet corn tamales with Salvadoran sour cream on the side and they do make for a good appetizer. But definitely not a savory meal and that's okay.The taco papusas were molten hot and delicious. I'm stuffed. The first one I had I poured the green salsa and lime over, but I couldn't pick it up, so I dug in with a fork. It was great.The second one however... Without tasting the orange sauce, I dumped it all over and took a bite. It's not an intense flavor, but boy oh boy does it burn. I almost wasted my horchata trying to cool my mouth off to eat. 10/10 would burn again.The cashier definitely didn't speak English well. And I don't speak Spanish well. Possibly in the future, I'll order online to make it less confusing for everyone involved. Regardless we managed to get my order in which was clearly displayed on the screen. It worked out. It did not help that I kept changing my mind on items halfway through.I'm definitely ordering from here again when I'm done feeling like a stuffed balloon.“

Other than a couple of the stools needing their cushions replaced, nothing to complain about.Could have had scrapple again, but I went with something a little safer. I had the French toast with bacon and added two over-easy eggs to that. The French toast was nice and fluffy and the right amount of cinnamon and powdered sugar. The bacon was nice and crispy and not burned and the eggs had the delightfully runny yolk for a fried over-easy egg.The staff at the diner was very cheerful and friendly and were happy to be there.
