The food here is always warm when we come pick it up and tastes amazing. It also seems to be a family owned restaurant and we often get a warm greeting! They work quite hard- highly recommend this place!!

The first time was pretty good. The second time, they got the order wrong. We were short a couple of items, General geoge Chicken and the Rice was probably from the day before because the rice was hard and gg was hard as a rock. Spoke to the manager, and she did care ! Keep treating people like that, and you won't be in business long . There aren't any good Chinese restaurants around odenton of Crofton good luck.

I’m taking into account my first order as well in this which was easy, quick and amazingly good. We just moved here and were trying to find our favourite Chinese takeout place.I just ordered again, I ordered 2 dishes on their website so I could go pick up. I realized I couldn’t change the white rice to fried rice. I called them to ask how to change it or if there was even a way and was met with a worker who cut me off and had to get a manager to help without me even being able to fully ask my question. The manager called and I explained I wanted to order online 2 dishes that come with white rice, but I wanted to switch them to fried rice. He agreed and said it’s fine. I asked if I put it in the notes I want fried rice it would be okay and he said yes and hung up on me.I ordered, and they were having a Spend $20 get a Free Calendar. I picked up my order and there was 2 boxes of white rice and no calendar. My husbands orange chicken also tasted bland. So when we got home we made our own fried rice with the white rice. We’re probably going to try some other places instead. It might’ve just been the night, but if you do go; their food is very good. I’m just not happy with the experience of tonight.

It is with great disappointment that I share my recent experiences with Hong Kong Gourmet Chinese Restaurant, an establishment that once held a special place in my heart as the go-to spot for fantastic carryout. Unfortunately, the recent changes in ownership have taken this once beloved restaurant down a path of decline that I never thought possible. My family and I used to frequent this place almost every other weekend, savoring the flavors of what was once the best carryout in town. However, since the new owners took over, the magic has vanished. The first sign of trouble was the shockingly poor quality of the food upon our return after the pandemic hiatus. I was willing to dismiss it as an off day, but subsequent visits only reinforced my disappointment. To add insult to injury, on my second visit, the lady handling my order was visibly and audibly sick, lacking even the basic protection of a mask. It was an uncomfortable experience, to say the least. When we got the food home, it was inedible, prompting us to discard it and opt for McDonald's instead—a choice I never thought I'd make in place of Hong Kong Gourmet. The attempt to upsell a Pu Pu Platter as their signature dish was a clear indication that the new management was not interested in maintaining the standards set by the previous owners. The overall decline in food quality, coupled with the unpleasant service, has driven away not only me but also others in the area, as neighboring shops no longer order food from here even though it’s in the same plaza. The lack of acknowledgment of the change in management is perplexing and frustrating. The once-familiar voices that greeted me on the phone have been replaced, and my orders, previously flawlessly executed for four years, were incorrect both times I ordered with the new staff. They recently spam texted me. I guess they’re attempting to lure customers with holiday specials but that only adds to the disappointment. While I appreciate their efforts, I can confidently say I won't waste my time or money at Hong Kong Gourmet Chinese Restaurant again. I can't help but wonder what will become of this place when it finally closes, I’m hoping for some good Jamaican food.

Hong Kong Gourmet, has been one of the best places we've had so far. We moved here from Bowie. We had a favorite chinese place but we found out that this place makes really good Mongolian beef. This has become my new favorite. Take out and delivery are both good.

We used to purchase from this location weekly. After Covid, this place fell off drastically. We decided to try again after nearly a 1.5 yr hiatus on 22 Nov, it was surprisingly very good, the rice was fresh, full of veggies and the general tso's shrimp was on point. Last night, we decided to order again, $90 worth and the food tasted spoiled, and had a very strong odor. It wasn't just one item but everything we purchased we trashed. The fried rice was not fresh, looked as if it was warmed over with an abundance of soy sauce, next to no veggies and very few shrimp, disgusting. The general tsos shrimp was soggy sitting in a bath of pure sugar, disgusting! The chicken teriyaki was disgusting, the Lo Mein tasted spoiled and had a very disgusting odor, the egg roles were soggy and definitely not fresh, the vegetables on garlic sauce was sitting in a bath of brown salt, we couldn't even eat them. All in all, we will not be eating at this restaurant no time soon. It's obvious whomever did the cooking yesterday is causing a great disservice to the restaurant. I do not recommend!!!!! I had to give a 1 star at a minimum, however if it were up to me they'd receive a negative star!

This Chinese spot is my go-to every time I'm at the office! The owner is the sweetest, and the food is always fresh and delish with big portions. The owner manages to make time for a chat even during busy hours. It's not just about the food, it's about the heartwarming connection that they offer.

Honestly, this was the worst of all the Chinese food places I’ve had in Maryland - I’ve tried all the ones in the Odenton area. The bread on the chicken was soggy, because the “sauce” was basically flavored water. The egg roll was mediocre and greasy. The spring roll wasn’t good and also soggy. The rice was cooked well.
