I think the menu is too broad. One of our orders arrived after everyone else had finished their meal.Food was fine, we didn't order anything elaborate.Staff was very friendly, the 3 star service is related to longish wait for food and the late arrival of one meal.

Waiting. The whole experience was waiting. Waiting to be seated - standing in the foyer wondering if anyone even worked there. Waiting (a long time) to get our orders taken. Waiting for food. We were there at least an hour and a half for a simple lunch which was really not great. The heater in the outside seating area was extremely noisy. Onion rings were greasy. Waiter was friendly and the waiting was likely not his fault. Definitely would not go there again.
We visit Bassetts a few times a year when we are out riding the Hog, or coming back from cutting a tree at the Christmas tree farm in Buckeystown. Last year (2022) the place was packed, and every table filled and not enough servers. This year, we were the only table in the restaurant. That is very sad, as the place is charming, and the food is good. The closing of Whites Ferry had definitely hurt the town. The large pretzel comes with a delicious white cheese blend. The burgers are great and cooked exactly to temp. Stopping here always feels like a mini vacation out in the country. It is nice to get away from the Beltway.

Went for the Veterans day special. While the staff was overwhelmed with the crowd, it was obvious they were willing to make the service work. However, on the special Veterans menu, I ordered their burger. They had no option on how to have the burger cooked(which came very well done) which lacked seasoning and was the consistency of a bubbas burger. Others at the table had other specials (cheese steak, cob salad, etc..) and had similar lackluster complaints. The restaurant is a staple and I have never been for the regular menu so this could be a one off review.

We stopped in at Bassett's for the first time and the breakfast was good! The restaurant has that diner feel and it's very clean. The staff was very nice as well. The French toast was good and the country breakfast hit the spot :) If you are in or passing by this area, stop by for a good diner style breakfast.
