Better than Sushi Toro, Better than anything Jiro dreamt. This is a must visit establishment!!! I’ve been multiple times and continue to be impressed and surprised by the menu. You will not be disappointed!!!

Fantastic food and service in a great location. Especially like the innovative way of self ordering. If you love Kema, check out Kenaki in the Kentlands as well. The owners of both locations are amazing! Keep up the great job ?

One of the best sushi places in the DMV area and I've been to a lot of sushi places! They have nice portions. Their Black Magic is amazing. Their belly bun is good and I just recommend everything on their menu super flavorful and awesome service.

I can't comment on the food because we sat there for over an hour without getting all the food. We had to cancel the order because everyone else came later got their order. There was no apology offered. Maybe just our bad luck but definitely not

Got some takeout. Food tasted great, loved the wasabi and also I usually hate the ginger but this ginger tasted pretty good. My mom also liked the raw tuna which she usually hates.

Tl; dr: Kema by Kenaki continues the tradition of really good sushi started by its owners a few years ago in Gaithersburg. I have now been to Kema a few times, and the food is always fresh, and well prepared. Love all the crudos, and the beet salad. The pricing for the chirashi is a bit inexplicable but good food. Also, as a partially disabled person, I am always grateful when I can call a restaurant and ask them to bring my order to the car and they are happy to do so.

Yummy food but down one since it's cafeteria style. You have to order at the counter and there is no server. So it's more difficult if you go with kids or older family members.

It's small and there was a long wait for a table even though they could have rearranged. The food was very pretty but taste was not outstanding. We weren't unhappy but probably won't go back.

Best lunch bento ever —No iceberg lettuce, no California rolls —Just gourmet hand rolls (mini taco like), tasty dark green salad without the usual gobs of ginger dressing, great lightly fried chicken, miso soup, and fancy light/small banana dessert. Each component could more than stand on its own a la carte. Please keep this on the menu!

Super cool vibes, delicious and creative food, fresh fish, would definitely recommend and return! We loved the sale harasu + me handroll, the donkey Kong maki, and save room for the strawberry + banana parfait so delightful!

The food is great BUT the service is terrible, so you decide which one is more important for you.

This is my favorite go-to sushi lunch in the area. I love the black magic roll, spicy tuna crispy rice, the hamachi hand roll, and really everything on the menu I’ve tried is a star.Casual modern atmosphere and always impeccably clean.Ordering is done at the counter or scanning QR code at your table and order from your phone.

I love their other location in Kentlands called Kenaki, but this place didn’t fail to disappoint me!! The owners and management are amazing, but the food is also top notch. I recommend the black magic and spicy tuna rolls!! The spicy tuna crispy rice was amazing as well.
