This was my second time visiting this establishment and it will be my last. I was extremely disappointed by the service we received. My brother and I walked up to the counter at 10:45pm (they close at 11pm) to buy waffles and ice cream. The expectation was that we would be served given it was 15 minutes before they closed. When we walked up initially, we were not greeted. There were multiple employees behind the counter and no one would help us. There was one employee standing near the counter who clearly saw us and had airpods in his ears. After about 2-3 minutes he finally acknowledged our presence and rudely told us that they were no longer serving waffles or Taiyaki. We were shocked by this and confused because he had a waffle cone and ice cream in his hand. We politely asked if it was because they were out of batter (they clearly weren't because we saw it on the counter). The employee said no, we turned off irons and reiterated that they were not serving any more waffles. This is completely unacceptable. As someone who has worked in food service I would never treat a customer this way and the expectation has always been to serve customers until close (sometimes after).I really did not appreciate the employee's attitude and unwillingness to correct the situation. This place should be ashamed of the way they treat people. If I was the owner or manager of this place I would be disappointed that the employee let two people who were going to buy food walk away.Alpaca Dessert has lost my business. I will never return to your establishment and would not recommend you to anyone. It is a shame because the first time I visited, I enjoyed the ice cream. Very disappointed!

They give you stale Egg waffles that have been sitting out. Don’t get them

Nobody was in the front for a few minutes, so at first I thought they weren't open (employee was talking at Poki DC instead). The area where they make the waffles was very unsanitary. The batter stuck to the counter definitely had been there for several hours. The buzzer given to me to let me know my order was ready was repulsively sticky. "Strawberry" is an available topping, but they literally gave me one individual strawberry.

We ordered the large snow ice. What we got was half cup of semi-melted snow, became soup in 5min. Even with the toppings, it barely went over the half point mark. Also, the mochi was really hard.

It was my first time trying the black sesame ice cream, got it with an egg waffle cone. If I go again I want to try the taiyaki. The black sesame ice cream was really good, unfortunately they had just run out so I only got like 1/3 black sesame and 2/3 matcha. The matcha okay too, bit too sweet considering the context.. it definitely overpowered the subtly of the black sesame. I recommend getting the black sesame on its own if you're getting it.The egg waffle cone is deceptively filling. I wasn't sure if it would be like crunchy air bubbles or cake, its like cake and a lot of it! If you're getting dinner at the spot as well as dessert you might be too full like I was. I would like to recommend splitting your dessert at this place, but that might be very hard to do with the egg waffle cone. Maybe you can ask them to put it in a bowl?Price is closer to what I'd expect of a meal than a dessert. Though there are a lot of components that go into the egg waffle ice cream, individually they are all sweet so its hard to build some kind of medley. Some pre-arranged items on the menu could help.

This place was great! Had a variety of flavors and toppings. I tried out the black sesame ice cream and it didn't disappoint. Matcha was yummy too and good if your looking for something less sweet. Definitely recommend!

I'm a bit torn on my rating of this place. One one hand, the dessert tastes good. Their hong kong egg cakes are really good. There is a lot of variety of toppings (maybe too much?) and they really package it up nicely when served to you. The bad part is it takes SO LONG! There is a warning up front about this, so they do give you notice before ordering, but still ... it seems like they can go faster than this. It seems like having a 2nd employee would speed things up considerably. In any case, its a hard one to judge, so I'll give it a 3 because the food is quite delicious, but I'm not always ready to wait for that long.

Nice environment to go and hang out. Things are made fresh in front of you. However the display does not match what is actually provided.

I went today 8/25/2020 and the guy that prepared my food didn't change his gloves. Yikes!. When he was taking my order, i gave him cash.... with the same gloves that touched the register and cash, he used it to prepare my food. i didnt want to be rude and tell him to change his gloves because there a PANDEMIC so i took my egg waffle and threw it away. I wish employees would consider the health of their customers.

Fighting against the pandemic blues? Try this Greentea Icecream with Red Bean topping on Individually made Egg Waffle cone. It took a little waiting time but totally worth it. Pulley each little Egg Waffle cell to favor your cravings along with creamy Greentea Icecream with a little bit of Red Bean sweetness was out-of-this-world satisfying. There are many other combinations of Icecream and toppings to try too but for today, this made me forget all the troubles in the world.

Good but pricey.

Alpaca Dessert is located in The Spot and they offer egg waffles, snow ice, ice cream, and taiyaki. We came here to get some dessert after having lunch in the area, but specifically because of the name - who doesn't like alpacas?!We went for the Matcha egg waffle with black sesame, matcha, and strawberry ice cream, and chose white mochi, bananas, strawberries for the toppings. This was pretty tasty! The egg waffle was made-to-order, and it had a good matcha flavor to it - it was airy and had a slight crisp, but wasn't too sweet. The ice cream flavors were all distinct and they each were creamy, albeit some had a bit of ice crystals. The toppings were fresh and juicy, especially the strawberry slices.Staff were more on the reserved end; once your order was up, they'll let you know for a pickup.Plenty of seats in the food hall, and there are some street parking around the area as well as some underground garage parking designated for The Spot.I'd love to try out their snow ice and their taiyaki next time!+tasty egg waffle desserts+located in The Spot+street parking and garage parking available

Love this place!! It does take a while to get your order, but it makes sense as they make the waffle in front of you and it isn't something they pull out of a box. One waffle and ice cream combo will serve two people easily. It's a big portion. The only qualms I have about this spot is that their waffles end up being a bit drier than I'd like.
