Taipei Cafe is kind of isolated on the Pike, but it's right across from the shopping center that has China Bistro and other Asian stores/restaurants. My friend and I had their Taiwanese fried chicken, beef noodle soup, and hamburger bun. I was looking forward to trying their soup dumplings, but the waitress said they only make the crab ones (opposed to the regular pork ones that are also on their menu). Drove from Richmond to load up on Taiwanese eats. Asked Taiwanese in the area and this was the recommendation. Taipei Cafe is very low key. Clean and friendly. It's fairly priced and compared to what you get traditionally each plate is ginormous I guess to fit the American customer demands. I ordered two appetizers, a soup and a desert and it was A LOT!
