There are far better Thai places in the area. I was really craving Thai food so we ordered on Doordash. My spring rolls were incredibly oily, and just blah flavor-wise. My pad see ew was almost inedible. I know it typically contains sugar to balance out the salty sauce, but this had so much sugar that I barely ate it.

So good had the drunken noodles it had a lot of basil my favorite that I've ever tried 11/10. Prices were also good very average. Definitely going again.

Best tasting Thai food in Bethesda/Rockville. Quick service. The decor is amazing. The move from downtown Bethesda was apparently a good one.

Oh man, I used to live by Tara Thai, and -- eons ago -- they were my goto spot for Thai. Whaaat the heck happened?? I ordered a typhoon soup, chicken pad se eaw, and spring rolls. The typhoon soup is a spicy seafood soup, and it was delicious. It left me with high hopes for the rest of the meal. The spring rolls were a bit blah. They're only vegetables, and lacked a good texture and much flavour. I still had hope, and thought maybe I just shouldn't get vegetarian spring rolls again. The pad se ewwwyuck! The first bite of it was like biting into a very oddly flavoured candy. It was bursting with sweetness, with brown sugar and caramel overtones. I know some chefs add a bit of sugar to balance the salt, but this was like a confection. Waaaay too sweet. I stirred it up and tried again, covered it in soy sauce (goodbye blood pressure) and still the syrupesque taste pushed through. Ate about half and gave up. I guess it's true what they say. A good Thai is hard to find.

dined at the Tara tai Rockville last week got treated very bad the worst customer service as soon as walked in this guy was very unpleasant he'd said we close in an hour so order fast, he was very rude and while eating kept giving pressure to eat fast and leave and when asked for more rice he said we don't have it, then to from worse to worst when the bill came he added 35 percent tip on the bill asked why the tip was added on the bill and why such high tip amount my bill was 30.00 and tip charged was 10.00 he said we charge 35 to 40 percent tip at our restaurant plus the food was pretty bad never going back there two thumbs down

The food was excellent. The only reason I gave 4 stars for service and atmosphere is because I was there on a Sunday for lunch and was not able to enjoy full ambiance, I'm sure.

Service was excellent. A little overcrowded but it felt comfy being with my niche. Food was a delight and great to explore (I shared with my family member). Waiters and waitresses were a little distant in interaction like an air of laissez-faire but it was to give you room to be with your fellow mates. Personally, I have to say I am biased because Thai food is one of my favorites. I recommend getting the Pad Thai and Thai iced tea.

tara thai used to be my spot for thai food. last week was a very disappointed experience ever. Food quality was completely downhill right off the start. Fried rice was very greasy and mushy. beef salad was horrible w/ too much salt and very very dry.

The restaurant was empty and very quiet; but they had a ton of takeout orders being picked up. Our server was pleasant and showed the correct amount of attention. The food was hot, fresh and delicious!Parking: The lot was crowded, but people were probably out doing post Christmas shopping. The lot had parking near top of the lot.

Tara Thai was always one of the best Thai restaurants in the DC area. Not sure why their ratings have declined. I know they had a slow recovery from the pandemic, hopefully they are on the upswing. The last few dinners we have had here were excellent.During the most recent visit, we had the spring rolls and chicken dumplings for appetizers. The spring rolls were solid, though the dumplings were a little on the bland side. For dinner, we had the Pattaya noodles and the Spicy Eggplant. Both dishes were excellent. The Eggplant was nicely spiced and the large Eggplant chunks were perfectly cooked. The Pattaya Noodles were also spicy, but the spice didn't overpower the shrimp, squid, and crabmeat in the dish. The service was great and the place looked as nice as ever.

The atmosphere is good. The Tom yum soup is a bit salty. In general, this is a fine restaurant for late dinner and affordable price.

We were warmly welcomed when we arrived. The food was very tasty but a little mild. The larb was quite tasty. I also had a delicious soup with shrimp, seasoned with a cousin of the ginger plant. Prices were quite moderate. Our server was very pleasant but we could have used a little more attention. The ambiance was pleasant, but it looked like there were fish tanks which were now only decorative.

The food is good. I've eaten from this restaurant several times now with carry out. The customer service could be better. Some of the hosts/hostesses in the front when you walk in are curt and short in behavior with customers. They can be more polite and display more patience. I highly recommend their Pad Thai, Pad see ew, and fried rice dishes
