This restaurant is permanently out of my go- to-eat list. More than a month ago wanted to eat there but no answer after several calls and drove there and found out was temporary closed. Today called at 5:30pm asked when would they closed, a man answered that they already have closed for the day but Google Map says they close at midnight.

Food seemed fresh, I’d recommend thinking twice before ordering even medium hot broth - that’s what I did and it was suuuuper spicy for me, even though I do enjoy spicy

Medium spiced soup is HOT. Service and food great. Music didn't go with the atmosphere.

Come here for the hotpot in smaller groups. We had a large group and it was a communal hot pot in the middle of a big table and it was hard to get the cooked items. Individual hot pots like Hot Pot city and hero are the way to go for larger groups. And to top it off, the power went out and so did the electric burner for our communal hot pot. They tried their best to cook something else, but then the power came back on after 15 minutes. Staff was friendly and accommodating. We didn't get the spicy beef talo soup, which was their signature I think. And the meat portions were kinda small, even though we ordered multiples. At first they indicated that they didn't have any spam fried rice, which was included with the hot pot, but then it magically appeared in small bowls. I would try this place again with a smaller group.

Food- We chose the a la carte rather than hotpot. Pork belly & scallion pancake were definitely cooked in old cooking oil. Did not taste good at all. Fried fish in garlic chili & chicken in garlic sauce, nothing to rave about. Drinking water tasted baking soda. Was worried I'd have stomach issues after leaving the place. Service- This was a big issue. Only one could speak english, brought us a wrong dish, again we could not communicate effectively. They were short staffed. Got up and asked for to-go boxes and the check since I could not wave at anyone. Saw one staff throw a paper in the trash can, pressed the trash with her hands and continued to prepare a dessert in the counter. If a health inspector makes a surprise visit, would not be surprised if there are multiple violations.Ambiance- Usually Yelpers would be straight forward but the reviews I read before making the decision finessed the description. Here is the real story. Place is old and does not look clean. I saw hot pot control switches falling off, table was sticky, plate & napkin where chopstix were set up were smudged with food sauce. This time fellow yelpers did not give an honest take on this place.

Friendly environment with great promotion! Definitely worth if my money. I brought the Menbership right away! Buy 200$ get 200$ ! What a great deal with all kind of inflation . Most important thing that have many varieties and snacks that others don't have. They have free shave ice free ice cream and all kind of appetizers as well.

Service was slow despite being nearly empty, portions are small, things were forgotten or didn't arrive until prompted. Tea is literally just hot water Didn't clear other customers tables after the customers left, causing the soup to burn.

This place deserves better review! I walked in and already can smell the real mala tang in this place. They have done a good job on the tomato broth and the mala spicy soup ( I wish I’ve ordered the extra spicy one instead of medium spicy). My only comment is that there should be more variety of meat such as different cuts of beef and pork included in the buffet menu. The rest is fine. They even have the fried mantou which i think is not common in the area. Keep up the good work!

The food here is excellent, first and foremost. The broth is great, and the meats and food selections are fresh and delicious, and a bit unique. The staff is very friendly and trying their best. That said, I think what needs improvement is just some procedural stuff. Ordering with the paper and marker is okay but kindof confusing. I thought that I could only order 2 rounds, but I think that’s not the case because after my second round they gave me a 3rd marker with a different color. It also wasn’t clear if I could order 2 portions of something at once, but I think not. It would be nice to be able to do that and some more clarity in the ordering process. Also, the sauce bar was running low on some things. Those are the only minor complaints I have.

Love this place for their a la carte menu - everything we've tried has been really great especially their pigs blood and cabbage or desserts! we recently went in to try their AYCE hot pot and were a little disappointed in the broths - it was wayy too salty. We eventually said something because it was almost inedible, and they actually took broth back and fixed it for us. service is really great and fast, but sometimes they do lose track of items!

3.5 stars - good price. Not the best meat choices but you get what you pay for. They include some side dishes that are not normally included in hot pot restaurants.

The food was just ~ Below average . The service kinda bad. Food come in slow which I mean real slow. Food might ran out or maybe not available but they wont inform you until you confusing where all the food you have tick in the paper thing. So we made an order (all you can eat) for almost 20 dishes but all we have was just 2 plates of meat. A pinch of mushrooms and 4 pcs of tofu with some napa cabbage. Ask the staff again for the food order and we have to stop eating in 30mins just to wait for the food. It was only 2 tables including us at that time but I have no idea what took them so long . They gave you the list to tick just for fun you guys. They’ll bring out whatever they want to bring. The broth was bland. The spicy one was tasteless. Like water and hot peppers mixed together without spices. Miscommunication and cheap frozen meat from supermarket. Taste really nasty. I thought I could find another place to enjoy hot pot around DMV area..but no. Disappointed. I still come back to Happy Lamb hot pot in Virginia (thanks me later). Not recommended this place.. never ever

So good. I love everything about this restaurant. I really like pork in garlic sauce. I think I will never get bored of this.

I regretfully have to report a severely dissatisfying experience at Xian Hotpot restaurant. To say the food was subpar would be the understatement of the year. The ingredients were so far from fresh that it was an insult to the senses. The kidney slices served tasted like something you'd scrape off a barn floor. The goose intestines tasted as though they'd been marinating in a dumpster for at least ten days. A truly unforgettable experience, and not in a good way. After our meal, my companions and I started feeling sick. Two of us were in agony with stomach pains, and another couldn't escape the restroom due to diarrhea. I even found hair in my food – a cherry on top of this disaster sundae. If the food quality wasn't enough of a letdown, the staff's attitude surely was. They showed absolutely no remorse for their poor food quality and did nothing to rectify the situation. The customer service, or rather the lack thereof, mirrored the food - abysmal. This was not a one-off bad night. It was a disastrous culinary experience underpinned by a blatant disregard for customer satisfaction. I urge all food lovers to steer clear of Xian Hotpot and its rotten, stomach-turning offerings. Your taste buds and stomach will thank you.
