Really nice selection of vegetarian and gluten free dishes. Many places are now offering a gluten free bun, but this is the first time I have seen gluten free pretzels offered. We tried the pickles and they were very good but occasionally a piece tasted heavily of anise spice which is a shocking surprise when you eat a pickle. It seems our lunch order was overlooked in the kitchen because 3 tables that sat after us were all enjoying their meals and ours still had not come out yet. We had both ordered sandwiches. It was about 25 minutes to get our food. In fact, the table sat after us had already paid and left when our food came. When it came out, it was delicious. It would have been nice if the server acknowledged, and apologized for the wait. We know these things happen. So it's still a five star review, because of the super cute patio, cozy with the heaters, and good food.

Such a great restaurant! Super family and stroller friendly. Yummy food with vegetarian options - even veggie currywurst! The manager and staff are very welcoming and friendly. We’ve only eaten inside because of the weather, but the outdoor area looks great once temps warm up a bit. This place somehow manages to be super casual and kind of fancy at the same time. It would be a great place to celebrate an occasion or have a date night, and it’s also great for young kids or to just hang out.

I’m at an absolute loss for words, in the best way possible. We celebrated my late mothers Birthday today at Garten and I cannot sing their praises enough. I’ve never had a dining experience like that in my life. From the hospitality, generosity, and thoughtfulness to include a table decorated with daffodils (moms favorite) and a signature cocktail, I am absolutely overwhelmed. A very special thank you to August, Michelle, Jeremy, and Nile! ?The food was incredible, the staff was warm and welcoming, and the ambiance was serene. Please make plans to patronize this business, you won’t regret it!!

Went to Garten to celebrate my birthday and acceptance into Nursing School. Food was hot, came quick, and was delicious!!! Ambience on a Friday night was cozy and warm, with a DJ playing great music in the background. Staff went above and beyond to make me feel special on my birthday, gave me a card, a lovely dessert and glass of bubbly seriously, best birthday I’ve had in years. Can’t wait to go back for another date night.Thank you, Garten & staff, you were phenomenal

I want to like this place because of proximity and an immaculate atmosphere, but the food is unjustifiably expensive for what it is and honestly isn’t good enough to be justified at half the cost.Furthermore, the beer selection is straight up not good. The bottles of great beers are marked up beyond reason (really? $8 for a bottle of augustiner?), and the draft selection tends to be local beers which can be problematic because Maryland does not have any breweries that make decent German/Central European beers (no not one).I hate to be someone nagging about price, but out of the now five or six times i’ve been here, i’ve left unsatisfied in light of the number on the check. Nearby Old Stein is also very pricey, but I leave there happy because the beer selection is perfect and the food (while overpriced) is up to par. It’s like they couldn’t decide if they wanted to be a german/central european place or trendier farm to table place so they took bad core elements from both.If you want good central European food (that doesn’t reek of dill), Rathskeller in Elkridge is a much better choice (and half the price).I have family in and have traveled all throughout Germany/Czechia/Slovakia/Poland and in my opinion they (Rathskeller) do that region much better culinary justice. That being said, the vibes here are incredible. Get a bottle of wine on a nice day and sit outside but do not waste your time with the food or beer.

My wife mentioned that she had visited this restaurant before. We had a family dinner and the food and atmosphere were great! Very cozy place with indoor and outdoor seating. I was full just from eating the appetizers. The ribs, and the pretzels were delicious! Great place for families, couples, friends, and even a work lunch as my wife has told me.Vegetarian options: Many selections on the entire menu.Dietary restrictions: Vegan, and Gluten Free optionsParking: There isn’t plenty of parking due to so many patrons.

Used their onsite reservation service. Called ahead to confirm. No answer, but left a message. There was the listing of their hours, and no indication they were closed. Drove 40 mins there only to find it closed.

Atmosphere has a European vibe. A great summer place with tons of outside seating, I went in February and enjoyed the indoor atmosphere as well, lots of greenery & fresh clean decor with cozy fireplaces. A fabulous date night or friend meet up place. The food was great I had the chicken cutlet with frisse salad and upgraded with Jagger sauce delish! But the real star was the fried apple slices! A dessert not too sweet, but ticked all the boxes! The frosting is so light and fluffy! Everything was very fresh and tasted scratched made! I ordered a glass of Sauvignon Blanc, and my only suggestion that could have perfected this meal would be to change the wine to a more citrus grapefruit forward wine such as Orchard Lane to compliment the richness of the meal.service was spot on!Vegetarian options: Falafel, hummus, salads...

My husband and I absolutely love Garten!! We’ve been there a few times now and love the food and cocktails. All of the food we’ve ordered has been super unique, small plate style of food and very fresh tasting. Everything has such great flavor! I wasn’t sure how I would like the German style, and was hesitant to go when I saw “beer garden” (since I’m not a beer person) but it’s been great and the menu always has plenty of options and lots of great cocktails! The first time we went, I ordered a fall type salad with squash and goat cheese for dinner thinking it would just be an average salad. I couldn’t believe how much flavor was in such a simple salad and I couldn’t stop thinking about it all week lol! I also ordered the Garten dirt for dessert and it was 5 stars. Like a sophisticated version of the type from childhood- so good!! I order it every time I go now lol. The atmosphere is so beautiful- like a true garden. I’m super excited to go back in warmer weather and sit outside on their cute patio! All of the staff who have served us were extremely friendly and helpful in suggestions of things to try. I’m so happy they’re located conveniently in Severna Park so that we don’t have to drive into a city for great food! Plenty of parking. I can’t wait to go back for this Valentine’s Day! Definitely would highly recommend checking this place out if you haven’t yet, and like more modern style restaurants!! It’s a vibe! (Don’t get it twisted, this isn’t Outback)
