This was one of the best Chinese dinners ever. Piles of fresh vegetables, we’ll prepared and spiced. We had the shrimp in brown sauce and the sesame chicken. Also the green beans with garlic.

After our favorite Chinese restaurant closed, we decided to try SILVER FOUNTAIN, and we'll never go back! The rest rooms are filthy and the food awful. My wife ordered the tofu and I the kung-pao chicken. The tofu looked great, but was tasteless, and the kung pao chicken was comprised of fillers -- canned peas, green peppers, red peppers and oh, yes, chicken, but precious little of it. How can you call it kung pao chicken and only include a few pieces of chicken? The primary ingredients were peas, then peanuts. The least ingredient was, of course, chicken. I HATE peas and have never had them in a Chinese meal. Why not call it kung pao peas? The only good thing we had were the egg rolls. Very fresh, though we can't vouch you'll get a fresh one if there's a soggy one lying around. The restaurant's menu items seem to be based on cheap fillers. Stay away.

(Translated by Google) It is an old Chinese restaurant, the price is reasonable, the food is generous, and what I like most is that the taste is not too salty.(Original)是中式的舊酒樓, 價錢公道,食物有份量,最喜歡的是味道不會太鹹。Parking: 大量停車位

May2023: 4⭐: I visited this location as a result of an invitation to a graduation party in the restaurant. The graduate decided that she wanted to eat several items, many of which were her favorite items. This location had a variety of decent menu selections. We had varied types of eaters in our group. The service was really good. One or two of the selections were not adequately prepared and one beef based item was sour. You can see the huge selection of food we enjoyed for the party.

We might be a bit late, close to 2pm, for dimsum on Saturday. We got no-to-bad service, so-so food with reasonable prices, however. Won't go again, not recommended.

i was so excited to go to silver fountain after not going in over 20 years, but i was extremely disappointed. there were only 2 other tables at dinner time so that should have been a clue. i got Szechuan beef which had no flavor, but that's not even the bad part. the bad part was my waitress kept disappearing and i had to ask the hostess for some spicy sauce and my check. the lady that was behind us finally yelled out to the waitress - excuse me, i need some attention. i didn't give my waitress feedback on the food because she never came back. once the hostess got her for my check, she asked if i needed a box and i said no. she disappeared again and i paid by cash in order to not have to wait for my charge to process. mens restroom was not clean and apparently had not been cleaned since their opening of the restaurant. not a fun experience and i was so disappointed because it used to be so good. should have stuck to my original plan which was going to be stained glass pub.

It was the worst restaurant experience ever. Not even exaggerating. These people have zero idea about customer service or food quality and all they care about is the money in our pocket. My friends and I wanted to have dim sums. Uninformed, we went in after dim sum hours, but instead of turning us down, the server invited us in with broken English mixed with Cantonese and told us to get things we wanted and she would check with the kitchen to see if they could still make them. However, she was being very rude when we were ordering and refused to get us the very few options of dim sums that we could get. She claimed that it was not worth boiling a pot of water for just a couple servings of dim sum and demanded more. We gave in and agreed to double the order. She also claimed that they ran out of one of the items so that we would ask for something else instead, but miraculously presented us with the original order so we would end up purchasing both. If this is not enough, when we asked for to-go boxes, she snickered and grumbled about why we even need them. What really pissed me off was that when she handed us the check, she secretly added ten more dollars for reasons not explained. Is this even legal??? My friend paid the price she listed and told me not to fight with them and turn to the power of the internet instead. Therefore here I am very pissed about the experience and I would beg no one to go there for the terrible terrible service and the very mediocre food that was loaded with MSG.

Not the easiest place to get to - being 10 miles from DC and requiring the use of a car which I don't own. However lately whenever I get the chance I'd make the obligatory drive there just for the egg tarts - they make the best ones in the DMV - two per order, the perfect size, with the flakiest delicate crust and the silky smooth textured egg custard filling. Last time also ordered a variety of dim sum - not as outstanding as the egg tarts (they are 5 stars) but pretty acceptable for satisfying one of these occasional dim sum cravings.

We arrived just as the carts started to come around and the people passing by with the carts had a great variety. YES we got duck and chicken feet...this is the real deal and you didn't have dim sum unless to tried them. All the items ordered were fresh and not greasy and the food was very good. This place beats out another place in Gaithersburg! We are coming back again to take advantage of the great food
