The tall lady waitress who serves there is very rude, person, She charges extra for what the customer doesn't use, and don't forget to ask for a receipt when you go to that restaurant. They advised me to charge for the one I didn't use. When I told them, they disrespected me. She disrespected me instead of saying sorry for the mistake ,the old woman who is entertained there called Mare Do Gelemele is very naughty and has no respect for the cloud , she would pay me including what I didn't use when I used it or ( tried to cheat me ) l dis risbected me , And anyway, when you go to the restaurant, don't hesitate to ask for a receipt for your use when you use it I recommend you!!!!

An exceptionally delicious experience, and considering DC inflation, comfortably and generously priced. Entrees were delightful and incredibly flavorful, but what sealed the deal was the baklava, which I would get again and again - I thought I would pack some of it up, but I polished the plate instead.Exemplary, would recommend to anyone in the area.

I live 300 feet away from this place and ordered a veggie combo platter for takeout ($17.99). They automatically tacked on a 20% tip to the final charge even though it wasn’t disclosed or mentioned anywhere. That action alone will make me not want to return. The total came out to be $22.88.I’ve tried many veggie combo platters from various Ethiopian restaurants in downtown Silver Spring and I recommend skipping this place and suggest you go down the street to Beteseb instead. Also, Beteseb’s veggie combo as of the time I’m writing this costs $17.49 total after tax, they also don’t tack on a tip without telling you.

This is my first time having Ethiopian food and this place did not disappoint. The veggie combo was an indecisive person's dream and everything on it was great! The only frustrating thing is that I was eating with my boyfriend who is non-veg and they put our food on the same plate.

Oh wow is this place great! The food here is mouth watering. My companion and I destroyed a veggie platter with some added kitfo. The service is excellent but be prepared for a little bit of a language barrier if you want anything too complicated. We managed to communicate a potato allergy but it took a minute. It was all good in the end though. Everyone was patient and kind and it got worked out.There is at table coffee service that is separate from the meal check. Bring cash for coffee service ($6 for two plus tip). The coffee service person also takes cash app but I got the impression cash was preferred. Coffee was a delight. I highly recommend it.Overall we had a wonderful time at Effoi and will definitely go back. I definitely recommend it to others.Vegetarian options: The veggie platter is huge and delicious. There are also a lot of veggie options on the menu that you can build your own with. So much yum!
