Wow! Walked in to place an order and the was a young man at the counter on his laptop. He didn't look up when I walked in, no greeting, but I asked what the wait time was since I was on my lunch break. Without his eyes leaving his computer screen he said "10 minutes". I browsed the menu and I asked if the fried wonton were filled with anything. Again, still while looking at his computer he mumbled something unintelligible. I asked him to repeat himself, which he eventually did. I put the menu back and stood in front of him waiting...and waiting...and waiting to place my order. Nothing! I just stood there. Another customer came in and the the employee got up and called for someone in the back to come out front. A pleasant young lady came out AND WAITED ON THE SECOND CUSTOMER! I thought at least the young man would now take my order. Nope! He mumbled "sorry" and WENT BACK TO HIS COMPUTER!! I said forget it! I will go somewhere else and stated what terrible customer service they have. I drove across the parking lot to Ben Yehuda where I was promptly greeted, placed my order and was given nice hot pizza, a friendly smile and a thank you! Suffice it to say, Holy Chow lost a customer. I was happy to spend my money at Ben Yehuda!

We just had the BEST Chinese meal from holy chow (to go)! The steamed veggie dumplings were huge! The egg drop soup delicious. The orange beef was a hit with my youngest - and the order was so large we all had some and have more for another meal. My chicken with veggies in garlic sauce was spicy and enjoyable. The vege egg rolls were a bit greasy for me, but my oldest loved it. And husband liked the sesame chicken. All in all, amazing! Especially for a really busy night. We’ll get this again soon bc it was so good!

It was Christmas night, a very busy night for Kosher Chinese establishments. This place has been around for awhile, so we expected that they would have had their act together. Not the case by a long shot! At least 20 mins to even get up to the counter. They had piles and piles of orders sitting on the counter that had not even been processed. More orders were coming in on line, and the phone kept ringing. I had placed the order early afternoon for a 5:15pm pick-up. The best they could do was to say it would be ready in 45 mins, which would have taken us up to about 6:45. A real joke!

Amazing customer service, and they can make most dishes gluten free and use substitute ingredients!

If you keep kosher, this is your only choice. But even if you don't, the food also is pretty good. Take out only. No pork or shell fish.

The soup was excellent, the service was quick and friendly, the price for lunch special was reasonable. The fried rice was gross. The chicken with mixed vegetables was not very good because the chicken is not velveted well and the brown sauce doesn't taste so good. This place is Kosher, so I guess that might explain some of the differences. That is why I gave it an extra star.I strongly suggest that the Holy Chow staff go to Brother Chinese in Wheaton, order the same food, and compare the two. If any staff are non-kosher, they should do a taste test between how Chinese-American food generally tastes and how Holy Chow tastes.I really wanted to like this place.

I'd rate the food like a 4.3/10 I ordered the general chow chicken and the texture reminded me of soggy bread but only the slightest bit more firm, I also ordered white rice which felt mushy, the way rice would if it were overcooked, and lastly I ordered myself the egg drop soup which tasted kinda off from what I remember it tasting like. Not too impressed with Holy chow's food

I really wanted to love this place. We went in and placed our order. Let me start by saying that I understand we all have stuff going on so we should give each other grace but the guy at the desk didn't even look up at us to take our order or ask us if we needed anything. Fine. We asked some specifics- are the wings full wings? and is the king pao made with veggies and if so which ones? The guy said the wings were full wings and the king pao was just fried with sauce and the peanuts are on the side. Cool. So.. we get home and the kung pao had celery which is ok but had we been told, we would have told them to hold them as well as the green peppers. Plus the wings were not whole wings, they were party wings. The general chow chicken wasn't bad. Really disappointed and after a crappy day, that was not the icing on the cake I needed.

Very impressed and happy with our order. We had an office business lunch and ordered 7 business specials. The online ordering was super user friendly, and the delivery was exactly on time. All items were thoughtfully marked with each person's name. They really went the extra mile. The food was hot, tasty and as described on their menu. Excellent service, thanks!- Silver Spring Medical Center

I wanted to root for this restaurant, since it is one of the very few kosher options around, but unfortunately a big menu misunderstanding makes me feel like I need to knock this down a couple stars. Most people see "chow mein" and interpret that as stir fry egg noodles with veggies and choice of beef and/or chicken. However, upon receiving my order, I only saw veggies and meat. NO NOODLES. AT ALL. I think most people who see "chow mein" would think this dish came with noodles also. I will credit that they have a separate section just for noodles, however, it would more clear to call the "chow mein" section something else entirely, or indicate more clearly that this is not noodle dish. Otherwise, the taste was great. Would have been better with the noodles.

This was okay mostly Americanized Chinese food at an okay price. I would shop elsewhere given the price and quality but I don't worry about Kosher. If you worry about Kosher, perhaps this place will be worth the price for you.

Asked for white meat chicken, it was like mushy and no flavor. Other dish was tofu it was over cooked. 43.00 dollars for two meals. One spring roll was 4.00
