"La Fonda Paisa offers a taste of Colombia in the heart of Silver Spring, with a menu that showcases traditional Colombian dishes bursting with flavor. While I've found a few dishes that I truly enjoy, such as Sancocho or Bandeja Paisa, the overall dining experience is somewhat overshadowed by shortcomings in service and ambiance. The service at La Fonda Paisa, unfortunately, falls short of expectations, with occasional lapses in attentiveness and efficiency detracting from the overall experience. Additionally, I couldn't help but feel that the ambiance could be improved with some attention to decor. A refreshed interior design could elevate the dining atmosphere and enhance the overall dining experience.Despite these drawbacks, the authentic flavors of Colombian cuisine shine through in select dishes, offering a tantalizing glimpse into the culinary richness of Colombia. For those like me, craving a taste of home or a culinary adventure, La Fonda Paisa serves as a welcoming haven. La Fonda Paisa not only serves up authentic Colombian cuisine but also offers a delightful shopping experience for those craving a taste of Colombia.

This place lacks organization and good zason and food that is pleasing to the eye to make us crave more. The only good thing they have is the Colombian market, nothing more.

Today is my last day going to this place day after going there for breakfast for over 3 years. They had some good and respectful waitress there before. But suddenly, they hired a bunch of punks, stupid, racist folks who have no skills of doing their job. Or they are simply ignorant and race biased.Everyone knows me in there, and most of them are really nice people (they even sometimes try to teach me Spanish to order my food). I went today and ordered two Colombiano breakfasts (my favorite). Usually, this takes me about 5 to 10 minutes waiting. But a few few ago things have changed with the arrival of especially stupid girls. They made me wait for almost 30 minutes and serve other people (Latinos like them) not even 1 minute after they ordered their food. I didn't mind that because I know some food takes more time to prepare than others. The frustrating thing is when I went to the counter and asked for my food. This is when they started putting it in the plates after confronting them.AS A BLACK MAN, I MAD BECAUSE I FELT THIS SITUATION WAS EITHER RACIST OR DISRESPECTFUL AS SOMEONE WHO BEEN GOING THRRE FOR YEARS. THESE HAPPEN A LOT WITH THIS NEW GIRLS. BUT TODAY ME AND MY FRIENDS DECIDED TO NEVER BUY ANYTHING IN THIS PLACE, FOOD OR NOT.

Absolutely delicious—I got the Bandeja Paisa (carne molida) for takeaway and loved it! I’d never had columbian food before, and this was delicious and well seasoned. All three meats were cooked well, the avocado was fresh, and the plantains were lovely! Highly recommend

Awesome authentic Colombian food for great prices! Highly recommend the sancocho and ajiaco (delicious stews). There's some seating but it's definitely more of a take out place.Parking: No dedicated parking - just metered street parking. We got lucky and parked on the same block.

I don't know if this place has a new owner or they just got greedy but agree with all others complaining about the horrible service. We had stopped ordering months ago because they raised their prices so much but today we wanted bandeja. As always they charged up front ($25 each), did not let us know until we got there that there is no chicharon, they did not discounted for that, they did not add anything else for that either, they simply charge the full amount for an incomplete meal. Not the first time, in the past, they have not given us beans. Tried to speak to someone else to get something instead, made up the excuse that the manager was not in. How is this acceptable!? Now we wont be coming back, too bad they have ruin the good thing they had going.

This place was small. We enjoyed our food. The customer service was good. The one thing that bothered me was the floor was so dirty with food from other customers.

The food in this place is anything but Colombian food. They have quality issues, I placed a delivery order for a bandeja paisa with ground beef and everything was stale, the beans smelled and tasted rancid, they sprinkle green onions to mask the smell and flavor, the ground beef was dried up, stale and rehydrated, not to mention that the chicharrón tasted as if it was fried a few days ago and fried again right before serving. The only thing that was fresh was the sweet plantain and the fried egg. Do not take for granted the other negative reviews, since I ignored them and went through a similar situation.
