We ordered here yesterday. $115 worth of food and the meat was not edible. So tough, so chewy. The veggie platter was good, but the meat really was terrible. If I leave closer and I wasn’t starving, I would have taken the food back. Please get better meat. And I know it was gonna be awful because the the container was full. There were trying to get rid of it.

Shalla is second to none when it comes to the quality, taste and portion of meats esp geba weta is my most favorite though sometimes the taste is not that good and I guess it depends on the chef. But, the restaurant gotta ensure that the it should be smelling good and clean which is not the case.

This was a great Ethiopian Place where we liked to go. The crime risks are too great now and we not return until the area is safer. Maybe the "Defund the Police" politicians will be thrown out of office and the economy will revive.

The service is consistently top-notch, with friendly and attentive staff who make you feel welcome. The prices are fair and reasonable for the quality you receive. Ok first I am not Ethiopian, i'm American. So I am still getting used to Ethiopian food. I did appreciate how authentic everything is. For my taste the food was ok, we ordered two vegetarian platers and one meat platter, also we got talapia (fish). I really liked the fried beef, fish and the salad that came with the fish. Most dished are spicy spicy (so ask if you have a tender tummy) except for the fish and salad. But the food was still super good and the fish and beef were delicious. If you were looking for a good Ethiopian restaurant I would definitely recommend this place.

Too dark! The walls are painted blood red, the floor and ceiling are black. Dim lights do nothing to illuminate the interior. There are 5 60" TVs covering the windows and walls, along with a movie screen size 6th TV, all showing different videos.The food tasted off, it was way too sour. We purchased raw special kitfo with a 8 piece veggie platter, and the sour flavor was in every dish. We've enjoyed kitfo, tibs and veggies at every other Ethiopian restaurant in Silver Spring, in DC and Baltimore, but this restaurant tasted completely different.The staff were more interested in talking to each other and turning up the music than in serving us. One of our party is hard of hearing, so the volume from the TVs made conversation difficult.

I love this restourant. I used for 3 Months food never changs same all the time. fresh and Tasty. Every body in the restourant friendly and have good customer service there.
