The Breakfast Club: Hits and MissesThe Breakfast Club offered a clean and welcoming environment with excellent customer service. However, the food itself had some mixed results.Highlights:The wings were delicious, with a flavorful wet sauce (though a tad messy - perhaps offering moist wipes would be a helpful touch). My friend thoroughly enjoyed the seafood fried rice, although they craved a bit more kick (perhaps a dash of habanero pepper would elevate the dish).Areas for Improvement:The seafood grits, while tasty, were a bit oversauced this time around. The pancakes, priced at $15 with an additional $2 for blueberries, were a disappointment. The taste suggested a boxed mix rather than a homemade recipe. When paying a premium price, I expect pancakes that reflect high-quality ingredients.A Bite on the Bill:The 18% service charge was understandable, but the additional 3% auto transaction fee was unexpected. Perhaps the owner could consider absorbing this fee or adjusting menu prices to be more inclusive.

It was a little more quaint than I expected. The food was ok. The swrvice was a little slow as hw seemed to have too many tables. And the restaurant wasn't packed to be that slow. The grits to sauce ration in the seafood and grits was off for me. I needed more grits, and the shrimp on top of the deviled eggs was great just for me, the filling on the eggs needed more flavor. But the presentation was great.

This place is not for people who prefer reasonably good service. Reservation for 4pm. No server visited the table until we asked a server if we had a server. Order placed at 430pm. Told we had to wait 15 more minutes to put our order in. Part of the order (PANCAKES) came out FORTY-FIVE MINUTES later at 515pm. Finally got the rest of the order at 535pm. That’s more than 90 minutes after being seated. It was so bad we got $50 off. Oh, and they add 18% gratuity. The stars are for the food only. NEVER. AGAIN.

I found my entire experience to be quite underwhelming. The staff seemed largely absent, lacking in touch-to-table service where the waiter periodically checks in on guests to see if they need anything like water refills or to inquire about their meal satisfaction. I even had to get up from my seat to flag down a waiter. Our waiter only came to our table twice – once to serve water and again to bring the bill. We had to rely on other staff for assistance as our waitress wasn't attentive enough.Regarding the food, it felt like they were aiming to spike our blood pressure with the excessive saltiness. We ordered oxtail and fried rice, branzino and fried rice, oxtail and grits, and mac and cheese. The branzino's head was filled with an overpoweringly salty seasoning paste, as if it was hastily stuffed inside rather than properly marinated. The fried rice was excessively salty to the point where we couldn't eat it. The only dish with a balanced flavor was the mac and cheese, which was actually my favorite. The oxtail and grits were a letdown as they arrived dry, and the oxtails themselves were also too salty. At that point, we just wanted to leave.Overall, the dining experience holds significant importance. From the moment a customer enters the establishment to when they leave, every aspect should be impeccable. Customers aren't just paying for their meals; they're paying for the entire experience. Our waiter only inquired about our food satisfaction after we had already paid the bill. If she had asked earlier, we would have mentioned the saltiness issue. However, the management was receptive to our feedback and handled the situation graciously, which is why I'm willing to give this restaurant another chance.

I recently visited the location and I must say Inwas well pleased. I am from NC originally and my Lady is from NY. We both have a passion for food. She owns her own catering business and I am a southern food specialist. We both are in agreement that hands down this is the best restaurant we have tried in the DMV.Heres why. The aesthetic was very appealing to the eye and that is very rare for smaller restaurant in my opinion. They took the time to make the space invititing. Secondly the wait staff was dressed nicely and very nice and assisted with the menu choices. Thirdly the management and host was very welcoming and greeted us well and engaged in conversation when possible. That is a 10 in my book.Last but certainly not least the food was cooked to perfection and not just a carbon copy dish. We asked for the chef to visit out table and he was very humble. He is definitely a hidden gem in the DMV. He deserves to be known around the globe.I would recommend this for a nice date night experience. Please make a reservation and get there early because parking is limited in the immediate area. I parked a block away but it was well worth it.

I recently visited The Breakfast Club in the DMV area and had a disappointing experience that left me feeling unwelcome and disrespected. Upon arrival, I found only one seat available at the main bar, where a group of ladies were seated. I politely asked if they could move over slightly so that my friend and I could pull up a bar stool from the back bar area.To my surprise, one of the ladies claimed to be the manager and instead of accommodating our request, she began lecturing us about food prices and ordering procedures. Despite my years of experience waiting tables, the manager's condescending attitude was both unprofessional and unnecessary. My friend, who hails from NYC, attempted to negotiate with the so-called manager in a diplomatic manner, but she was met with taunts and rude remarks from the manager's friend. The situation escalated quickly, with the manager's friend openly mocking and embarrassing us in front of other patrons. As a proud Southerner from Louisiana now residing in Texas, I value hospitality and respect in any establishment. The lack of professionalism and customer service displayed by the manager and her associates at The Breakfast Club was truly appalling. Their behavior made me feel unwelcome and embarrassed, and I was left with no choice but to leave without spending a dime in an establishment that prioritizes rudeness over paying customers.I would strongly advise against visiting The Breakfast Club in DC if you expect to be treated with respect and courtesy. The unprofessionalism and lack of hospitality exhibited by the manager and her crew are unacceptable, and I regret ever stepping foot in such an unwelcoming environment.

BLOWN AWAY! This dining experience was everything I wanted it to be and more! The food was beyond incredible. The atmosphere and aesthetics were emaculant and felt intentional in the best way possible. Chris, Andy, Lucero, G and the rest of the staff worked cohesively to provide me and my girlfriend the best possible experience. Can't wait to put my friends on. Next time I'm bringing the whole team. Keep up the good work! We'll be back soon?

The food was really good. The price of our drinks was absolutely ridiculous. I couldn't believe how much they had the nerve to charge. I will never go there again. If you go and order drinks, make sure to ask how much it costs first.

Visiting from Cali and got this recommendation from tiktok and I could not be happier. Food was amazing and the music was a nice vibe. Had the lamb chops and seafood grits. The service was fantastic. Had a team of staff come over and move us because our table was wobbly. Celia felt like a friend as soon as we sat down. It's def a must go!

Overall, I would try the breakfast club again. Food was good. Vibes were okay. I think I would have enjoyed brunch more if had a live dj/band. More options on the menu (maybe a specialty of the weekend). Would definitely try again, hopefully what was missing when I was there will be.
