My experience here wasn’t favorable, my partner and I were both excited to spend our valentines dinner here but were quite disappointed. Due to a mistake in the kitchen, We waited over an hour for our pizzas; a vegan roni boi and a vegan meat lovers pie. Fortunately we were provided complimentary mozzarella sticks for our long wait but I was disappointed to receive a not so warm pizza. My partner enjoyed her pizza but I was dissatisfied with My pie and the long wait.Vegetarian options: Great options for vegetarians and vegans.Dietary restrictions: There are gluten free as well as vegan optionsKid-friendliness: Kids are welcome in this establishment

My husband and I had to visit after seeing the pictures on instagram and we dined in. We got the trio apps with the mac & cheese ball, mozzarella sticks, and the risotto ball. They were nothing to rave about the moz sticks we enjoyed but all of the side sauces they came with were cold unfortunately. Then we tried the half tiger destroyer pizza they were pretty good but the crust was burnt on the tiger pizza very hard to eat and when we brought it to the attention of our server her response was “yeah sorry that happens sometimes.” There was barely any meat on the meat lovers and the destroyer didn’t have cheese covering the portions of the pie close to the crust. Overall decent pizza, it took the food a while to come out.

Pizza is good but add on about another hour to the pick up time they give you. Really LONG wait!

I didn’t really care for the food here and was disappointed because they are more expensive than the typical pizza place. First problem is that they don’t take phone calls and they don’t personalize the order. I asked for half buffalo wings and half honey old bay but they only do one flavor per order.Another issue is the pizza is extremely greasy but also dry in that it is not enough red sauce on it. I also could not taste the honey on my pizza. My final issue is that a little container of sauce is $2-4. Way too expensive. Also, I paid $15 for 8 wings and $18 for a half of pizza. Not enough bang for the buck.

Came to pick up a DoorDash order. A person there checked the DoorDash order, then brought out a bunch of items, processed to tell the delivery guy to mark his app that is picked up before they can give him the pizzas. Once he did that, the person told him, “Your order is already picked up.”. You did all that to him just to tell him after that “someone picked up the order”, or are you keeping it for yourself? Or because someone is not speaking well English, you scammed him... to be funny?

This is my new personal favorite Detroit style pizza. The crust was crisp, the flavor of the homemade marinara, pesto, and vodka sauces all in one slice was amazing. 7.8/10 One Bite score for me. Great work!

This review is entirely about the service. We came here for dinner because of the Philly versus Chiefs game specials that were advertised on Underground Pizzas social media. When we arrived, the game that the specials were centered around was not on the bar TVs. In fact, Gilmore Girls was playing and was on the bar audio. In addition to the game issues, our waitress was rude and unwelcoming. I wish the service was half as good as the pizza was. I do not recommended dining in. Stick with takeout.

Are you looking for the best Detroit slice in the DMV, Underground is where it is at. We love the seasonal Street Corn Pizza, but have never had a bad slice from this location. The Motz sticks are a must have app!

Arrived at 12 noon and the door was locked. They are supposed to open at 11:30. Finally someone opened the door. The red headed lady who works there was the absolute worst server. She acted like she did not want to be there. Her attitude was off putting. Her delivery was curt. She barely wanted to open her mouth. We could not understand why she was so nasty. I didn’t want to tip her at the end but I did. I wish I could take it back. Get rid of her and the food is worth a trip. Pizza is great. Wings are crisp and tasty. Too bad service was horrible. Her vibe was ridiculous. Also, it was cold inside.

The pizza was pretty good. Vegan pizza was good, the cheese tasted just like regular cheese. The waitress was rather lackluster, she did not seem to be having a good day. she had an overall poor attitude.

Pretty hard to find detroit style pizza in most of the mid-atlantic, specifically the DC suburbs without going on a drive, but this one was pretty good. Not exactly buddy's but good in its own way.

Arrived yesterday for lunch and the place looked closed. My friend went to the door to check because she said they opened at 11:30; we arrived at noon. Someone else also showed up and tried the door. Whomever was inside finally came and unlocked the door. The young lady (red hair) that served us seemed as if she did not want to be there. She was the only one on staff. Did not greet us, was very impersonal, and IMO rude. I drove 40 mins to eat at this spot because my friend said it was good. We were the only ones in the restaurant so you'd think she would put a smile on her face or something. Several people looked in the window ... but because the place was so dark inside I think they thought it was closed. I'm not sure if lights were on. My friend was cold, unsure if heat was on. We asked a few questions about the menu, waitress mumbled her responses ... just appeared uninterested, her demeanor was just blah. I tipped because the food was outstanding ... wings were hot and crispy (I placed a second order to go), pizza was good as well. Service left A LOT to be desired.

On a chilly night, we found ourselves in Silver Spring craving pizza and found Underground Pizza, a hole in the wall. Plenty of customers, and a busy kitchen - the wait was a bit long, but it was worth it. The salad was fresh and bright, the classic cheese pizza was thick and flavorful, with crispy parmesan on the crust. The quattro was a nice variety of flavors, from deep pesto to sweet veggies to the meaty goodness of the woodlands. The servers made sure to visit often and make sure everything was up to snuff. I would definitely recommend Underground Pizza. If you've never tried Detroit-style, it's a nice break from standard pizza and Underground does it well.
