This place is so welcoming! They make you feel at home as soon as you walk in the door. The owner, Zene greets you and offers homemade bread! The smell of the coffee is so inviting! My friend saw them on IG and I added it to my list. I figured they must be new because surely I've heard of all the Ethiopian spots in downtown Silver Spring! Wrong! There's just that many! We had lunch here this past weekend. My friend got some vegan options. I got the awaze tibs - they warned me it would be spicy. It was perfect and to my liking. If you can't handle heat, then stay away from that one. It was an adequate amount of meat. I ended up needing extra injera and they were so nice in getting more for the table. This place is unique in that it's not jut a restaurant. It's a market with food items and clothing. I love that! My friend ended up getting some injera to go! They could do better with the signage as the name isn't clearly seen from the street but maybe that was by design! If you know, you know! I would definitely come here again!

So so good! Food is always so fresh every time. I always usually get a veggie combo, fish dulet and Goden tibs. You can tell this place is great because its mostly always packed with Ethiopian people. Service is good, sometimes a little slow but nothing crazy. The owner is very delightful and always walks around to say hi to everyone. There is often incense burning which is nice but sometimes a little strong. I will always come back here!Dietary restrictions: I asked if they have gluten free injera for my aunt and she said yes and it comes from ethiopia (not made locally).

Having relocated from the DMV area six years ago, discovering Zeni’s restaurant upon my return was a revelation. When my friend suggested meeting there, my wife and I eagerly agreed, seeking the best Ethiopian cuisine. Zeni’s exceeded all expectations with its warm hospitality and impeccable service, exemplified by Shambel behind the bar. My wife’s favorites, including Goden Tibs, Kitfo with kocho, and ye Asa Tibis, left her speechless, while I found every dish to be exceptional. Zeni and Shambel, your dedication to excellence is truly commendable, and we felt right at home amidst the clean, neat, and beautiful surroundings. I wholeheartedly recommend Zeni’s to anyone visiting the DMV area, and we certainly plan to return for more unforgettable experiences.

The food is amazing and the owner was very hospitable and caring. The highlight of the visit, by far, was our server, Tarik, who was absolute top notch. Very personable and a great sense of humor. She had us laughing the whole time while we enjoyed the great food.
