“I am truly a pick eater so anytime I'm able to do a full tasting menu with no worries about having eating restrictions I jump at the opportunity. Oyster Oyster has such a carefully crafted menu for vegans and vegetarians alike. The only element that is not vegan is the oyster they serve as one of the tasting elements. Other than that, it is truly a vegan person's heaven. So much fresh vegetables cooked in ways I literally could not have dreamed up. The Gnocchi mushroom dish served with the broccoli bread was my absolute favorite part of the menu. The bread was served with marigold butter that absolutely blew my mind. Do yourself a favor and also try the Non Alcoholic tasting menu to accompany your dish as it was such a great way to get more fresh juices and tonics to accompany the meal. I highly highly recommend this place to everyone and a round of applause to their excellent service as well.“

“Right in front of the Nationals Ballpark we saw Tap99. What absolutely drew our attention was the Big a** mozzarella sticks (yes they are actually called that)! So we immediately went inside and saw that it was a pour it yourself beer, liquor and shots restaurant as well! We got a demonstration on how to use the machine to pour whatever you want and then we were off to the races. There is a ton of seating both inside and out. Outside has covered seating across from the sidewalk as well which was great! We ordered the totchos, jumbo wings in honey bbq and of course the mozzarella sticks that lured us to this spot. For drinks we ordered various margaritas that poured perfectly in the glass every time. My favorite was the strawberry margaritas. They weren't too sour and had a bit of a sweet flavor to them. We also tried the lemon drop shots you can pour yourself and they were really well done. For the food, everything we ordered was delicious. Those three things turned out to be a ton of food. I really liked the bacon and cheese on the tots, the wings has a great sauce and tons of meat on each one, and the mozzarella sticks were incredible. I was just astonished by how much cheese filled each one and how little breading was needed to hold it all together. It also did a perfect cheese pull with every bite and had some sprinkled cheese on top of them. They were so large we had to conquer them by cutting off bites. I would totally recommend them to anyone that enjoys eating mozzarella sticks. Overall, this spot was incredible, so many people there but also so many taps that you never have to wait in a line to get a drink. I definitely want to come back here again at some point soon!“

“I was devastated when I showed up for my reservation today when I realized my reservation was actually for tomorrow, but I left feeling QUITE the opposite.The hostess (I did not catch her name) told us she could squeeze us in as long as we didn’t stay past a certain time (which was so generous and more than enough time to begin with). We ordered our drinks, and when the drinks came, the (manager? bartender? i’m not sure) brought them out and even included a drink he said he created the recipe for yesterday and wanted our thoughts on it! all of the drinks were amazing. the hostess came to our table and told us she even moved reservations around so we didnt have to feel rushed (wish we didn’t to begin with)! it was just so sweet. our food was just as good, if not better. our server (anthony) was so kind.i had high expectations of the food going into dinner but the service was just as great!“

“I'd come back for a slice. Located inside the Western Market on/near GW University. A little hard to find, yelp map doesn't match actual location (used google maps instead). Ordered a half margarita half pepperoni pie. Was hungry so ordered a slice of margarita pizza while we waited. The slice was awesome!!! The crust was crispy airy and delicious. Disappointed a little with the crust on the whole pie... it wasn't crispy at all... a little chewy. Tasted like two completely different pizza spots. Service was friendly. There was room for small or medium sized groups with seating in the back or out in the market place walk way. They had a large selection of drinks including beer/wine/etc.“

I've visited the Andy's Pizza NoMa location a lot over the years, including for events (shout out to their Cinco de Mayo event!), takeout, and just grabbing a slice and beer at the bar. This location is a little awkward because it's tucked in the back of the Streets Market when it really deserves its own space. But, they have awesome pizza, an awesome beer menu, and a pretty good space with some outdoor seating, mezzanine seating, general seating, and bar seating. I highly recommend everything at Andy's, particularly the french fries and of course the pizzas. These are the best NY-style pizzas in the DMV. Particular favorites are the Diavolo, Sausage & Pepper, and classic pepperoni. Most recently, I got the Sausage & Pepper for take out and it was excellent.“

“Stopped by Minya's this week. Grabbed a ginger tea (amazing) and avocado toast. Both were delicious. The bread for the toast was locally sourced and the ginger tea was from their in house brand imported from Eritrea. Oh and surprise there is a beautiful SPEAKEASY downstairs! “Street parking and garage parking nearby in old town. We made a reservation but your entire party needs to be here before being sat. We had a couple people in our party late and by the time we were ready to be sat, we probably waited an additional 15 minutes. This place gets packed! A good deal for bottomless brunch though and the food is pretty good. It's a little loud in here but a cute place and we did really enjoy the food. I definitely recommend their pizza and pastas! We loved the pasta Alla zozzona and the Diavola pizza. Also enjoyed the Breakfast Bruschetta and would definitely recommend the house made Donuts! “We popped in to the Hawk n Dove after a busy morning touring the Capitol Building. We were greeted at the door in a reasonable amount of time. It looked like the restaurant was full, but they were able to get us a table near the kitchen - which is always fun since you can watch the buzz of the kitchen and wait staff hustling out all of the food orders. There is a lot going on here - busy bar, sports, news and trivia televised on screens above the bar. Witty T-shirts and memorabilia hanging on the walls. Generous portions, and upscale healthy food options in addition to the normal pub grub. We noticed that other tables had opted for salads and flatbreads so we did too. The personal sized flatbread was the perfect amount for one person. Nice combination of toppings and a warm soft crust. Salads were perfectly seasoned and dressed. Everyone in my party was happy with their lunches. Definitely would recommend.“

The server was friendly and attentive. I liked the alcohol selection, and had wine. I enjoyed my arugula salad with shrimp. I wish they were a little more cooked but that is a personal preference. The desserts very very good too, we really liked the limoncello raspberry cake. “We have a complicated past with Roscoe's. We live just a block away in Old Town Takoma Park. When they opened we went there a couple of times and it was just plain bad. There were almost no toppings on the pizza and it was all pretty tasteless. So for the last more than a decade we've avoided them - which bummed me out. I love to support our local businesses but there have been, in the past, a few clunkers. And Roscoe's was yet another one. But the other day when I was walking my dog I thought, "Why do I always see people eating both indoors and outdoors there?" So I thought, "Well, let's give them another chance. Maybe they've change in over a decade!!" And have they ever. My husband and I had the Roasted Beet Salad, the Antica Pizza and the Siciliana White PIzza. It was all REALLY good. The Antica was a little greasy so I did some degreasing. The salad was perfect and substantial. The pizzas were really flavorful (with a lot of toppings) and the woodfired pizza was crispy and chewy. Just great. We'll definitely be back since we pretty much live right next door!“
