Nice little cozy place inside a strip mall. Plenty of parking in front! When we arrived at 7:30 pm on Thursday night, they were full! A man came and told us that we should have a table in about 5 minutes and invited us to sit in their waiting area. True enough, about 5 minutes later we were seated. My kids had the sushi regular plate--7 pieces nigiri and a California roll, plus miso soup. I ordered pairs of nigiri and a veggie roll off the sushi menu. Miso soup was fine; I felt it was a tad saltier than it should be and I also thought the tofu should've been larger pieces of softer tofu, but like I said, it was fine. The nigiri were very good. The fish was excellent--very fresh and not at all "fishy", buttery tender. I felt the rice grains in the nigiri maybe was a little too firm and also was packed a little too tightly, but it was ok. The veggie roll was a little too sweet but ok otherwise. Overall I would say the quality of the fish definitely makes this a go to place for sushi. Also, the environment inside was very warm and friendly. The customers and the employees were all very friendly. A group of women were happily singing happy birthday to themselves, there were numerous tables of joyful families and friends, and at one point an older man started performing on his harmonica. Would definitely come back!

Good sushi with some of the best miso soup I've had. Atmosphere is pretty plain, but the food is good and came out quick.
I used to regular this place, however, on my last occasion dining here i got food poisoning. I am assuming it was from the rice which was slimy and tasted a bit off- was probably left out too long.

I can't say enough about Yamato Sushi. The food is always fresh and innovative, the service is quick, the staff are welcoming, and the owners are always smiling. We love that they have ingredients we can't find most other places like black rice and have creative sushi not found anywhere else.They're also so welcoming to my son. We've been going here since before he even had teeth (and long before he was born actually), and they are always so warm and friendly with him. He is now 10yo and this is his very favorite restaurant.Parking is easy, it's handicap accessible, and even when it's busy, we've never had trouble getting a table.Hands down our favorite place to eat (the only other being our favorite Greek restaurant since we're Greek). We used to live in the area and now drive up just to eat here. Highly recommend supporting a great restaurant with terrific food and a wonderful family.

Small mom and pop shop. Service was prompt . The best in the whole northern Baltimore county area. Competes with the sushi downtown. Chesapeake roll is in the one of the greatest things I’ve tried.

Service was fast and courteous, food was delicious! We got 5 different rolls, some sashimi and miso soup. The fried rolls were crispy, the fish was fresh and everything was well made. For a Monday night the place was packed, I'm surprised I only just found out about the place after having lived in the area for so long.

Really good sushi. Our server was awesome and brought me some rolls not on the menu that were phenomenol! This was our 2nd visit and this is now our go to sushi spot! Thanks Yamato! We'll done!
