Third time there, each time the servers have been fantastic and food has been great. However, each time the bartenders always seem to have something better to do. While we were waiting for our drinks (took 40 minutes for 3) the bartenders priorities included: putting on her necklace, checking her phone, talking to people at the bar. I won’t be returning because this is truly the last straw. We wasted an hour and a half waiting for food and drinks while we watched the server anxiously keep checking in to see if the bartender started our drinks yet. I felt so bad for her and obviously tipped normally, but it seems like the establishment’s standards for bartenders are a little off.

Come here a few times a month with friends and usually it’s great. However the new bartender, the tiny guy with dark hair and beard, makes the worst drinks I’ve ever had. The server was awesome, but wow. Of the four drinks my table ordered from the seasonal menu, all were disgusting. We only drink them because the price wasn’t worth wasting. Get this guy out from behind the bar, maybe he’d be better suited for washing dishes.

Okay… pros (1) the bartender made a good drink. That’s it.Cons. (1) the bartender glared at me the moment I walked in. I smiled at her and she just rolled her head around and glared at me. (2) she avoided me for the first 5 minutes standing on the other side of the bar. I waved my Id and card. I placed them on the bar and just waited with my phone. Then once she saw I wasn’t leaving she then very slowly walked over. (3) “what do you want?” Is what I got told. She didn’t give me a menu or anything. So I said “what ever you have that’s strong and fruity.” Already had a bad day and she made it worse so I said “give me two.” She sighed and leaned back because I know someone asking you to do your job is oh so very frustrating. (4) charged me $25 dollars for 2 drinks. EXCUSE ME? I go here every now and again. I will usually go with a friend. I get 2 drinks my friend will get 2 drinks and then we split a pizza or get 2 and even then it’s still not $25. So wow. (5) she took way too long with my ID. She ran her fingers across it. She pressed her nail into it. She held it to the light. Looked at me looked at the picture like 3 times. Held up at every angle. It’s real honey. I know shocking but the DMV delivered. (6) she was very nice with all the other customer but would stop and glare at me intermittently. I hate to say it but I was the only non-white person in the room and seeing I had done nothing to her my differing complexion was the only thing I could imagine had offended her so much. I was also wearing a sweatshirt because it was cold outside maybe she has sweatshirt trauma I don’t know. 7) finally once i saw the $25 dollar charge and had a horrible experience. I said to myself “screw it im gonna break my 3 drink rule.” So when she finally walked by I asked for two more and she groaned and said “no I’m not making anymore.” So I said fine asked for the bill paid and left. I liked coming here. I always recommend this place to my friends. I work in a few places in town and I always recommend this bar. I won’t be doing so again. I’ll start recommending the tavern a few buildings up instead. A few times I went in she was working and she always glared at me. I remember one time I went upto the bar and asked her if it would easier for me to go to her and ask for my drinks or just wait for her to come to my table and she signed and said to just go to my table. This is the first time I had gone in and it was only her. The male bartender that’s there sometimes is great though.

My go-to place to go with friends or just for a quick beer after work. Staff is great and - just the right amount of - attentive. The live music they have sometimes is great. Clean and inviting. 100% my favorite bar downtown.

The drinks were strong, and the bartender was awesome she kept us entertained. I ordered a rum runner, and this place is one of a few that has all the ingredients to that drink.

My friend had a ruby slipper martini that tasted similar to hand sanitizer, the rum and cokes were not bad

We had a hard time finding the bar because it was downtown in Bangor, Maine, and the sign identifying the business name was small. The waitress was very nice; and the Mudslides were so heavenly!

For a bar that markets themselves as the "premiere martini bar of Bangor" they're actually terrible at making cocktails of any sort, let alone martinis. Also the service is horrendous. Make sure you have at least a half hour to sit and wait for someone to come take your order.

Just got a drink, but menu looks good so I'll be back another time. Slow day so almost empty, just the bartender at the front. She made a great drink, an interesting twist on one of my favorites, the old fashioned. It was an Aztec Chocolate Old Fashioned. Pretty good, and an interesting take on the classic. Desserts sound great, cheesecake is the specialty so keep tabs out for the flavors of the week. Small place, definitely will get it overcrowded quick at high season. Hoping to get this place on the yelp map!

"The cramper" comes to mind multiplied by tacky. Hopefully their liquor license gets revoked because it's doubtful Courtney is literate enough to vote. When Bangor year round residents are treated like tourists maybe the treaters of such behavior ought to keep their hands out of the till and go back to charm school not pouring liquor for the over 30 crowd that's been on the shelf longer than the cramper himself.
