Delicious food, highly recommend the broiled haddock sandwich after a morning hike at ANP! Our son was brought ice cream by the kind server as he has a nut allergy and couldn't eat the cookie included with his meal. Super glad they were open during off season!

Terrible food. If anyone that likes burnt food should come here. We ordered 6 dishes including appetizers, 5 dishes came out burnt. Old and low quality food and ingredients. Do not order Brussels sprouts. Stay away from this tourist trap! Just doesn’t worth the hype. Our waitress did a great job. awesome service.

We stopped by here to have our brunch. We ordered Lean burger, Shrimps with Pita and Lobster roll. The shrimp dish was really good, with pieces of crispy fried bread and grilled shrimps. The lobster roll was fresh but little bland and could have used some seasonings. The lean burger dish was definitely unexpected, it was a mush without a patty, fell apart, and was super bland, wouldn’t recommend it. The staff were friendly and service was pretty quick. Overall, I would recommend this spot if you are in Bar Harbor and looking for a nice lunch hangout place!

Great place to eat. The food was really good and nice portions too. The staff was very nice and took care of us. There's bar seating and tables too! Nice selection of beers too.

Place had a good vibe until the food came out. Wings were undercooked and still bloody inside, they tried to make it right with comping and the wings but at that point the meal was ruined.

I ordered a haddock sandwich and it was hard and bland. I had previously asked the waitress if the fish was fresh to what she said it was fresh.. others in the table had their vegetables smell rotten.. we emailed the manager about the situation and he was in complete denial “my veggies are fresh, everyone loves them!”.. well, not us were never coming back and we will tell others about the experience. If I were in the owners place I would take criticism as a way to improve your business instead of getting defensive.

Food was bad. The vegetables seemed old and smelled as if they have been idle for some time. The server didn’t even exchange the food or offered to take the plates back. They also said the salmon was fresh, but it was evident that it was not from the texture and flavor. Others also ordered the Haddock, stating that it was freshly caught. Can’t understand how this place has so many good reviews.

Great beer selection, highlighting local brewers from New England. Fish tacos and chowder were delicious.

Some of the best margaritas and Mac n cheese I've tasted. The blueberry margarita was made with real blueberries, which showed. The margarita of the moment - cucumber lime - was also fantastic. Would definitely return next time we are in Bar Harbor!

The lobster roll here is one of the top reasons we came 1100 miles back to Bar Harbor.Thinking back, I just did the math and Side Street Cafe likely has the best lobster rolls on earth. Someone prove me wrong for $100. We try lobster rolls everywhere we go, all over road tripping up and down the New England coast, in Savannah, Georgia, Charleston, and inland all over. Nothing compares and Side Street Cafe is honestly 25% of our the reason we returned to Maine. It’s that good. I feel qualified to say it’s the best on the east coast by a huge margin and Maine is known for having the best lobster. That means there’s not much chance anywhere else in the world has better. Furthermore, if they’ve served 200,000 lobster rolls and we’ve eaten 20 there, that means there’s a 1 in 10,000 chance we personally ate the best lobster roll ever made in the history of earth. That’s effing unbelievable.I’ll be back.

We love this restaurant and the menu! We go to a Bar Harbor every year and always grab dinner at Side Street.

No matter how you slice it, Bar Harbour during tourist season can be either fun or a nightmare. There is no in between. You won't be disappointed at Side Street Cafe. After a day hiking, we happened on this place via word of mouth on the trail. It's a cute little place on a side street. Staff is busy but friendly and helpful. Our drinks were top notch and salads were crisp with homemade dressing that was amazing. The salads were full of super fresh greens and veggies which makes them so good. There's a pretty broad choice of foods, but word on the street was their lobster Mac and cheese was to die for. Dear reader, this lobster Mac and cheese was so good I think I saw the baby Jesus flying over my plate. Our waitress was fun but professional and anticipated the things you hate asking for - the extra napkins, some grated Parmesan, more ice water.... Old school service with a contemporary vibe. Excellent experience!
