Let me start with that I really want to like this place, but I have yet to have a good experience. So I was convinced to give bell another try... As with every time I've been the staff was cold and rude. Sometimes places just have a vibe and everyone gets treated rudely however I observed that other customers were treated more respectfully. I ordered the veggie deluxe sandwich to go. The wait time considering how busy they were was reasonable. The sandwich was terrible. It's supposed to be "two eggs, sliced avocado, baby spinach, tomato, and cheddar cheese" on an English muffin. What I got was eggs, avocado on half, and Swiss cheese on an English muffin. Horrible. It was extremely disappointing. The eggs tasted like they hadn't been seasoned with anything at all. You could have at least used salt and pepper! Very bland. If you have to substitute an item, like the cheese... or you're missing items, please say something to the customer. The coffee was also gas station quality. Maine has lots of great local roasters. Please use one like Rock City, Coffee by design, or 44 North. if you're going to charge a premium the quality should reflect.

Was fortunate enough to pass by Bell the Cat as I was passing through Belfast! Clearly a local hotspot as evidenced by the many friendly people mingling inside, recognizing each other now and then. As I’d never been there before, Olivia at the counter helped me decide what to order, and was friendly, personable, and attentive. A+ for customer service! I was too late for breakfast tacos, (ends at 11am) but had an excellent meal nonetheless.I ordered a cup of the Thai Curry soup, which was highly recommended, and I can see why! Absolutely delicious. Texture was great, lemongrass especially was incredible. Warmed me right up.I also had the Chicken Poppy wrap, with feta cheese and strawberries, it was bright and summery on this cold day. Didn’t realize it came with a side of chips, that was a nice surprise. The dining area was casual and bright, restrooms clean and well-stocked, and everything was pretty reasonably priced, considering I got a full sandwich, a cup of soup, and a hot chocolate. If I’m in the area again, I would not hesitate to return :)Kid-friendliness: Casual vibe, open seating, kid-friendly

My wife has been gushing about Bell the Cat for over a year now. I finally got to go just before Christmas. Personally I'm not a huge fan of having to go to the counter to order especially when there are so many choices and the place is busy. I understand why they do it but I feel rushed and get anxious. I ordered the Earl. Deli sliced roast beef piled high...must be subjective because it was not piled high. I live on sandwiches. Don't tell me it's piled high if it's not. I ordered focaccia bread and got ciabatta bread. The sandwich was ok. The roast beef was tasty for what there was of it. The horseradish and mayo was hardly noticeable. I see the potential at Bell the Cat's. Perhaps, if they weren't so busy. I am interested in trying them again. I just think I'm missing something here. The place is very clean. The staff friendly and my wife loved her salad. Everyone has a bad day so let's try again. I'll keep you posted...

My sandwich bread tasted old, maybe it needed to be toasted or something. Did not like it. Order, pay, then eat. This tipping before eating is getting out of control. How can one tip well if the whole experience is not good enough.I went because over winter the choices for food are scarce but this place did not impress. Not for the price they charge.

The new location is very nice. Good quality food and drinks. I really like the peanutbutter bars and green tea with peach. The owner was working today, leading his team with respect and courtesy. I would highly recommend this place if you are in the area. Job well done Bell The Cat!

Good sandwiches, soups and salads made with local ingredients at a fair price. One of my favorite breakfast spots. Country Benedict every time.

I have a gluten allergy so I was happy to see the GF options. I saw a daily soup menu while I was in line. It gave the ingredients of each soup and said the corn chowder was gluten-free. I did not read the ingredients because it said the soup was Gluten free. When I got to the register to order there was another daily soup menu, and I read the ingredients listed. It had wheat in the ingredients list. The woman at the register couldn't tell me if the corn chowder was gluten-free or not, so I didn't get it. I selected the Earl sandwich (roast beef with horseradish) on gluten-free bread, toasted. We sat and the sandwiches were delivered in a good timeframe given how busy it was today. The sandwich came with a small package of Lays potato chips and a pickle. The ingredients were fresh and sandwich was very good. I used the ladies room. It was clean and well stocked.

Owner catered our sons wedding rehearsal, breakfast and lunch. Positively the best experience! My husband and I have worked in the food industry for over 30 years and this place was by far one of our best experiences. We followed up with a last minute breakfast at the restaurant as we left town. 5 star!!!!Vegetarian options: Many options and very accommodatingDietary restrictions: Accommodations were made for wedding attendees
