This is both a candy store and an old-fashioned ice cream parlor with a counter and stools. Such a fun place to get assorted cones, sundaes, shakes, etc. right downtown in Belfast. Lots of interesting flavors. Currently serving Gifford's ice cream, I believe. They make a darn good chocolate egg cream too.
Cute little ice cream bar in the old traditional style with candy for sale as well. Ice cream was good. They also make fresh squeezed lemonade and limeaid that was terrific! Staff is very nice.

It was a hot and humid Wednesday in September. We were thirsty and were drawn to the Chocolate Drop Candy Shoppe by the "fresh lemonade" sign out front. We were the only ones in there and sat at the bar while we watched a young man make our fresh-squeezed lemonade. It totally hit the mark! The shop is reminiscent to a mid-century soda shop. There were many sweet treats from that era as well as more modern treats. I will go back!
