We wanted to go somewhere different and off the beaten path. We found the inn and we're intrigued by the menu and the added fact that we needed to take a ferry ride out to the Island. Coming over from Portland we did the walk to the inn, which was our option as the Inn had a shuttle that stopped to check on us a few times. Not to mention the number of islanders who stopped to ask us if we needed a lift. The inn was like stepping back in time ... clean, comfortable and cozy. We were greeted and seated upon arrival for Sunday Brunch. Our meals were very good and the service from Ethan was excellent. We also enjoyed the fine musical performance by the guitar player just off in the lobby. The inn was so cozy that after a brief stroll around the grounds we settled into the lobby to have a cocktail and sit by the fire flipping through old books. It was a wonderfully pleasant experience and we hope to enjoy it again next season.

This Inn was an amazing stay - the rooms are right on the beach and the hotel supplies beach chairs if you want to enjoy the sunset/sunrise by the ocean. Overall the place was quiet. The room was very clean. If you stay here, be sure to grab the Lobster platter at The Shack. Was soooo good and comes with chowder, clams, and corn.

The Chebeague Island Inn's dinner menu had only a handful of choices for appetizers and entrees but everything was fresh, tasty, and looked lovely. Dessert was a highlight! I'm a vegetarian most of the time and am allergic to seafood so it was challenging to find an entree to eat. Had I asked the chef to accommodate me I'm pretty sure he of she would have done so. Our family of 4 have had 3 breakfasts, 1 lunch, and 4 dinners at the inn and overall really enjoyed the food!

Beware

Lunch selections were limited but everything ordered was elegantly and excellently prepared. Food is extremely good this year, a new chef has made this an establishment of fining dining versus the uncertainties of previous years. It is by no means inexpensive but the cuisine does justify the prices.

If i could give out a 10 star rating I would without hesitation. Went for wedding Anniversary and had the mussel's and fish soup. Food was amazing and as well as the service. Ended the meal with a chocolate cookie sandwich with ice cream - put me asleep on their porch!!!

Super disappointed to find out that the Online menu was from last year apparently. The brunch menu was mostly lunch fare and had 3 simple breakfast items that I could've made at our rented home with more love. It was our anniversary and we did note it in our reservation. The ambiance is always gorgeous and service is friendly and prompt but we probably won't pay for the brunch again. Cocktails on the porch!

This was our second time at the Inn. We couldn't wait to return because we only had a one night stay the first visit. . We obviously have aged out because carrying luggage up and down three flights of steps was not easy. With NO help offered. We found the wait staff in the dining room to be good but your bar was lacking . The front desk was not friendly at our arrival, not welcoming and not extremely accommodating. There was no coffee available until after 8:00 am which is ludicrous for travelers. Many older people do get up early and look forward to having coffee available. We enjoyed our first time there in early September with a roaring fire in the living room area at night. . No offer of that this time. The shuttle service was accommodating. But, sadly, we won't return.

Celebrating our wedding anniversary. Tied our boat to a mooring out in front of Inn and took our tender into land for the walk up the hill. Wonderful dinner out on the porch on a beautiful summer night. After dinner back to our boat where we spent the night. Very special way to celebrate 51 years!

Night two of our Dining here. As this location is on an Island, you must be here for golf, a visit, or staying at this Inn. A ferry ride or private boat is the way to get here. This was a birthday two nite stay, get away. Perfect. A Smaller intimate Inn with twenty? Something rooms. Their staff, van drivers, will whisk you to the Niblic or the collectibles stores. A Reservation for dinner we checked in and upon entering our server and assist brought the nightly basket of fresh bread. Poured our water and left our cocktail and dining choice lists. After a short time our server returned to take a wine request. A short wait for a Pinot Grigio and we placed our entree orders. Our Bang Island Mussels arrived after allowing time for enjoying the Pinot Grigio. Not being a salt user I picked up a slightly salty flavor. They were still delightful. The manager was not pleased and comped the appetizer. Our entrees consisted of Swordfish and beef. The Swordfish flaked apart and was set in a slightly flavored sauce with a touch of pesto. The beef was cooked exactly as ordered. The manager stopped by a couple times to be certain all was up to their/our expectations. The team work here is fantastic as all pitched in to help each other. A gem of a location and dining experience. Go for a get a way.

Exquisite Island Inn experience. From the moment we arrived, attention to detail was magnificent! Our Eggplant appetizer was unique in the preparation in a slight tangy sauce. Both entrees were spectacular. Halibut and Hake lightly prepared and flaked apart. Service was excellent. Recommend Highly

We had an incredible experience at the inn. Picturesque ferry ride, pickup by hotel shuttle at the dock, and an absolutely delicious meal on the porch of the inn. Wonderful service, and absolutely stellar food! Worthy of a special occasion, or just something different when visiting the greater Portland area! Sometimes the best experiences take a little extra effort ;)

This venue rents out to large parties, then seats other unrelated individuals in the middle of loud standing receptions. It ruined our small family gathering. If you are part of a wedding or a fraternity party, it's probably nice, but don't book a table for dinner. It's really miserable.

Friends in town for the weekend. The logistics adventure of making the ferry and getting over to the island is worth it for the pancakes and views from this quintessential Maine venue. Great morning brunch.

food, service, and views were fabulous...we were met by a wonderful driver off the ferry the 3 mile trip to the inn was wonderful...born and raised in Portland but never to Chebeague Island..on our 39th Anniversary it was a night to remember..there was a beautiful wedding that evening at the Inn and we met so many wonderful people that night...The Inn is a gem and the complimentary champagne with our dinner made my wife and I feel special that night.

Outstanding dinner in a quaint island setting. The food, wine list, and service were absolutely impeccable from getting to the island, having dinner and returning. Definitely a foodies destination!!!
