We were seated at 6pm in the pub, which we had reserved. It took quite a while to order our drinks and then quite a while to get them. After ordering our dinner it took quite a while for a basket of tiny thin bread with butter to arrive. It took a long time for my husband's appetizer to arrive, but the Korean Spare Ribs were very good. Our entrees arrived and the Meyer Lemon Grilled Salmon was delicious. My husband's Halibut was extraordinary. Then we waited a long time for our empty dishes to be removed. We did not dare order dessert or coffee as it would have taken too long. We noticed the wait staff running up and down the stairs and came to the conclusion that the wait staff for the pub was also the wait staff for the main dining room upstairs. Also, the bar was in the pub - which was also the bar for the main dining room upstairs. We saw wait staff carrying drinks upstairs. Bottom line: the service is very poor - because there aren't enough staff. In addition to all of this, there was no busboy. The wait staff were also bussing the tables and setting them up for the next party. All of this hustling caused the wait staff to appear harried rather than relaxed, social, and customer friendly. The food is excellent, but the service is very poor.

We enjoyed a lovely Easter Dinner, lamb shank for myself and traditional ham for my wife, both absolutely delicious and large portioned. Appetizers of Deviled Eggs and Crab Cakes accompanied with imaginative cocktails were outstanding. The new owners Lillian and Michael have carried on the excellence that Oxford House is known for.

New owners and it's not the same. I ordered the same thing I always get, the Bibb salad and the mussels. Bibb salad had no Bibb lettuce. It was Romaine. And the dressing was overpowering. The mussels were small desiccated things. They used to be plump beauties. The sauce was too salty. So sad but it's off our list.

Outstanding in every way. The food is fabulous and service is impeccable. You cannot beat the atmosphere in this gorgeous Victorian mansion with mountain views out the back windows. They have seating on their porch as well as a unique bar in the basement that you must see if you are lucky enough to visit. We’ve been there three or four times now and I always look forward to going back.

Best of western Maine. From the sea salt and honey butter to the amazing main courses it is our favorite restaurant within 30 miles of Fryeburg. Highly recommend. Wait staff has all been there forever. Katie is the best bartender.

The Oxford House Inn experience is outstanding every single time. The atmosphere is cozy, complete with a fire, the staff couldn't be warmer and more attentive to detail, and the food is outstanding and creative. Thank you Natalie and Jonathan for years of special nights out with family and friends.

Our second time there dining in the pub, food is excellent soup main course etc. excellent. The only minor complaint is they only have one person serving the pub so while she was a very good server it was on slow side as she was server and bartender and clearing tables. Occasionally someone would come down to help but only for short time. In the end we passed on desert because we didn't want wait another half hour. Would we go back? Yes.

We eat here maybe once or twice a year. This is country inn dining. You know, special occasion stuff. The food is elegant and thoughtful. The staff welcoming and professional. The atmosphere is old school; white tablecloths, dark wood, fireplace, etc. Our meal consisted of a charcuterie board that had surprises and whimsy like a horseradish or mustardo pickled plum and keilbasa slices deep fried in corn batter (I called them Polish McNuggets). I had the duck entree with winter veggies. My wife had lobster tail and steak surf and turf. All in all, it's a cozy winter experience. In the summer, we opt for the back porch room to dine as it overlooks a beautiful intervale and the western maine mountains.

Another great dining experience at the Oxford House. We especially loved the scallop app and how they updated their steak frites with roasted onion and blue cheese. A very nice elevation! Soup special was great too! Really everything!

Great place for dinner if you want to be pampered. The food is top notch. The bar down stairs is a great place to hang out. It is my go to Special occasion place in the Valley. During COVID we have done takeout a couple of times. I wish it was more.Walkability: located down town Fryeburg. Quite downtown if you want to get away from crazy North Conway. Great view out back looking over the valley with the mountains behind .Food & drinks: The food is always outstanding. In the top 2 in the valley for best places to eat. My go to for Birthday and special occasions. But also for date night, the downstairs bar is a great for a burger or sandwich. with a cool vibe.

A great place for a date night. We have never stayed here but we visit the restaurant every time we are in town. Great food, great service and a very romantic atmosphere.

What a gem - outstanding cuisine, presentation and service! Prices were definitely on the upper end of what we are used to but it was worth every penny. Fantastic drinks and dessert topped the evening off!

The ambiance and service were wonderful. The rib appetizer and the arugula salad were excellent. The NY strip steak was the toughest piece of meat I have ever had and the filet mignon that my wife had was tasteless.

Always reliably delicious, our group of four were cozy in the basement (it feels a more intimate than upstairs, the music adds to the ambiance and the featured art this time was especially good. Food and service were fantastic, the scallops got rave reviews!

Hosts Jonathan and Natalie were lovely and the rest of the staff was friendly and attentive. Rooms were thoughtful and clean and the food was excellent. A great launch spot for White Mountain adventure.
