This restaurant was suggested to me via my hotel lobby clerk as I understand that it is a favorite of the locals.I sat at the bar as they were very busy and had good conversation with the friendly bar tender even though he was swamped he made sure to interact with me.Started with the crab cake and initially was disappointed at the size of it, but after the 1st bite changed my mind as it was almost all crab maybe a small amount of breading to hold the shape. So a pleasant surpriseI had their fish and chips (pictured) but doesn't do it justice. The fillet was very sizable flaky tender and cooked perfectly. The breading was just enough and great. The only real negative is that they are obviously well liked by the locals and very busy which due to the size of their place made it quite loud.Otherwise a great meal in a wonderful local atmosphere with great food

Every single bite was wonderful. All locally sourced ingredients. The salad was SO fresh and interesting. Lovely bread. Creative, interesting dishes that just nailed it. I wish we lived in Kennebunkport. I'd patronize this place regularly! Noisy and crowded but no wonder...

This place has a lot of potential, but fell short of it in many ways. To start with, it's a nice comfortable room, mid-sized, with adequate room between tables so you don't feel like you're eating with your neighbors. I am sure this place gets overrun in the summer. Interesting menu of medium size, but with a good variety of options, but no steak, which is a fairly typical offering. Service was really terrible (and consistent with other reviews). Very slow on an uncrowded winter night, highly inattentive, forgetful, and minimally friendly bordering on rude (1 star service). I would guess it is very difficult to get solid, reliable, professional help in the winter in Kennebunk, but service was not up to par with what this restaurant seems to want to be. I wouldn't rush back, but not avoid it in the future either.

Ash, who does most of the cooking in this kitchen, is the most talented and passionate chef in the area. Everything she makes is perfectly done. There’s never too little of something, or too much of it. Every ingredient is utilized and incorporated in her dishes exactly the way it should be.Every time I dine here and eat her cooking I leave in a great mood, even if my entire day was a disaster before that. The combination of appearance, smell, taste, and texture, is a thing of beauty.

One of the owners was there and extremely attentive to us. Amazing place, even better food. Feels upscale but has a local, loving feel to it.

Went here after a quick ice skate..was a long wait and the fish and chip were ok...when the check arrived I took a carrot cake to go..the ice cream and frosting that came with it was amazing the the carrot cake itself wasn't that great..clean though

Can't say enough good things about 50 Local. The owner is on site, the entire staff is amazing. The quality is VERY consistent and top notch!Parking: Street parking is available as well as a parking lot behind the restaurant. Easy access to the restaurant from both entrances.

I have only been there twice... can't wait to go back again .... because the food is great...... not so much for management/ staff... both times they acted like they could not be bothered to listen to us. I know they were busy... but you found time to talk to friends.huuummm??? the food is so so so good!!! ( five stars) The noise level is just awful... you don't go there for a peaceful meal Go there for the food only

Nice restaurant in downtown Kennebunk, Maine. I had the mussel appetizer and Udon noodle dish. My wife had the buccatini, the rest of the diners had arancini appetizer the ribeye steak. The mussels were well prepared, flavorful and plentiful. It could have been a full dinner as served, but, I was sharing. the arancini came with 5 large balls. We took 2 home. The udon noodle dish was a good size with chicken. I thought it was a little salty and I think would have been better with pork. If they gave a choice of pork or chicken, that would be a smarter dish. My wife loved the buccatini. The steak lovers were happy and each took some home. The restaurant was a bit on the noisy side, but, we were able to have a conversation. It was very dark, so much so that I was unable to read the check when it came. They have candles on the table, but, it is not enough light. Our server was excellant. Would definitely go back if I was in the area.

Nice but loud and the tables guarantee you will be knocked a time or two. Service is kind but distracted. Never got a 2nd iced tea but they still added 4 dollar butter charge lol ? details!! Hard coming off exquisite food but well done and tasty. I prefer stronger flavors but it was good for the price point. Shrimp excellent…..pasta well made. Bread ? yum

Their menu is predominantly seafood I wish they had more variety with their appetizers I ended up getting the charcuterie board which was $30and there is only like five pieces of cheese on there ??‍♀️Kid-friendliness: The staff made me feel very welcomed I went in there with my 4-month-old and one of my friends and they didn't miss a beat which was really nice they are very educated in the food that they serve
