Im gonna be honest, as a southern boy, Im PICKY about the bbq I eat. Not all meat called bbq is worth eating. Also, being in Maine, i was skeptical.HOWEVER.......Smoke BBQ nailed it!! ok,, i wrote a great review..loved the food and wanted to support the new business! but i called for a take out yesterday....and omg..was accussed that my phone number was not legitimateand they could not take an order! just awful..accused of being a scammer! she said..i have to call the owner to take your order as you are not legitimate! OMG...I lived in a second home 24 years..and to accused of scamming ..so she called back...and said ..the owner said yes..to take my orderbut!!! needed a credit card...lol..so a crimimal can call but secure with a credit card !i cancelled the order and will never be back! went to a more expensive bbq and was accepted as a good customer!never have i ever experienced..lol..not great food..but would have orderedthis issue was successfully resolved ..thanks to the owner of the restaurant. I had not seen his response and reacted with a negative review! but again..the owner was very responsive and inow give 5 stars !!! outstanding food and great service !!! thank you Josh!ordered and the food was outstanding!!

We stopped here for lunch after sightseeing in Kennebunkport. The staff was on their game and very friendly. The food was great! I had the Smashburger and fries (delicious!) and locally made root beer, and my husband had the double meat with fries. Portions size was decent. Everything was so delicious and there were no leftovers, lol. I highly recommend if your in the area.

Omg this place !!!!!! What a find we will go here at least once anytime we are in Maine for a bit! The wings were amazing as well as the brisket !!! Oh and if you like bloody Mary's ......... this is the best in all of Maine you could put them over raw oysters as sauce !!!Love this placeAdam and Jessica

I got dinner on the way home from Portsmouth -- same thing I ordered last time, but with the potatoes 'au gratin' (scalloped) instead of the fries. The potatoes were fantastic, as were the Boston baked beans that the owner told me has been a family recipe for decades. The BBQ half chicken was as good as last time. I like sitting at the bar because you can order food without having to go to the order counter at the entrance and paying ahead of time. Gotta try the prime brisket burnt ends next time.

I can only comment on the cocktails, cornbread, and wings. A perfect drink was prepared by Mark, the very pleasant bartender. The cornbread was absolutely delicious. The wings were quite good without any sauce. We enjoyed sitting at the bar. We will go back to try other things.

This is the best sandwich I’ve ever had!! From the moment we walked in the door everyone treated us like family, and were very attentive. The owner is in the restaurant and you can tell he really cares about his customers and ensuring everyone receives the best quality food. I can’t wait to go again and make this restaurant my new go to destination when I eat out! I will definitely recommend to all of my friends and will be returning regularly!

Terrific food. Fast and varied options but all were very good. Nice portion sizes as well. Atmosphere is fantastic! And service was above what I even expected I have to say just really really great. Easy to get to also for a bonus. Don’t hesitate if you are in the fence. I saw a lot of people doing take out for lunch or early dinner (Maine so I’ll say supper :-) ) as well. Speaking of, the hours are super on point, as so many places today don’t open until 4pm. Go and enjoy!
The brisket was really dry and the mac and cheese had little to no flavor whatsoever. Their cornbread was crazy good though, and the service was good, although I don't care for their ordering at the counter method. Nice little firepit outside as well, so that adds to ambiance.

Our first time. It's nice that they're open at 4pm Thursday-Sunday at this time of year. Instructions on the door ask you to seat yourself, then order at the counter. Helpful staff will answer any questions. Eat in, or out. There's a small fire outside if you'd like to sit near it. Full bar inside with two large TVs. Your order is brought to your table, and ours arrived surprisingly quickly. Everything was hot and fresh. I had a Smashburger, which came with fries, and scalloped potatoes on the side. How often do you see scalloped potatoes on the menu? My wife had the brisket bbq sandwich, which included fries and cole slaw and she got a side of cornbread. Sauces and silverware are on the table along with a roll of paper towels on a spindle for napkins. My burger was good, and it had a nice unique smokey flavor. The fries were also good and not too much salt so you could taste the potato flavor. The brisket was tender and expectedly fatty. The scalloped potatoes were good, as was the cornbread, which came with a pat of butter. The cornbread was a bit on the sweet side. We're coming back on a pre-planned night and I'll get an extra patty on my burger and I'll try the chili fries. Six sauces are on the table, with a description of each one. Surprise...when I got the receipt in my e-mail there was a 3% addition for the kitchen crew(?!?!?!) I had left a cash tip. Next time...probably not. You're pretty much on your own except someone takes your order and payment while another brings your food to the table. Adequate parking for the number of seats inside. Located on the main road just outside of town.

I ordered the 3 meat trio, which was pretty good. The ribs were tender. The pulled pork was flavorful and well cooked. The brisket was a bit dry. The macaroni was good and the corn bread was delicious. Was it worth the money though? Maybe, maybe not. The meal would've been better if it was $10-$15 cheaper. The downside was no veteran discounts and no one seemed to be in management. Youthful employees never seem to know what should be or not. Would l return - Yes, but showing appreciation for being a Vet goes a long way when l consider where l want to eat.

I came here on a whim and was blown away with the quality of food and service. We brought the kiddos and the options for them were great. My wife and I went back a few days later for a date night because we couldn’t stop thinking about the brisket. Also, the smashburger and wings were on point as well. 10/10 recommend.

First time at Smoke BBQ and it won’t be our last! Great atmosphere, friendly staff and delicious BBQ. We came for lunch and had burnt ends which were super moist and a smash burger……excellent food, can’t wait to try other items on the menu. Definitely worth the visit!
