When the power goes out and not even the generators are working….Kennebunk Inn to the rescue! Great stay, nice people and fun trivia night to wait out the storm. Nice, comfortable rooms, too!

Wonderful location and full of charm in downtown Kennebunk. Close to everything including the ocean.

I had the pleasure of staying at this quaint New England style inn long term being a travel nurse. Yes the hot water takes a bit to reach the rooms but plenty of hot water and water pressure was great. I stayed in a king suite very roomy and comfortable. All of the staff is very accommodating and helpful. The housekeeper does an amazing job and goes above and beyond to ensure you stay stocked with all you need for your stay never allowing you to run out of anything. Very clean rooms and common areas. It is an old Inn so you do have some creaky stairs as they wood but it is a very home feel away from home. Beds are absolutely the best. I definitely recommend of course it’s not the Hilton but the staff make it better then the Hilton.Rooms: Spacious with comfy beds great WiFiSafety: Even though the back doors are not locked at night being a single female traveling alone I never once felt unsafe or uneasy. The area is clean and quiet and beautiful.

This building is like being in an 1812 museum. Loved the place and being in the village.

The room I stayed in was very spacious, two bedrooms and a living room, which was the only good part of this Inn as a whole. The showers barely have any water and there’s a loud noise in one of the bedrooms that sounds like an airplane. I was awaken at 5 in the morning due to a banging sound coming from the floorboards, they were loud and there are no rooms in the floor below so I still don’t know what that was but it lasted for about 20 minutes. The whole place is eerie and the steps in the staircases are super small and tall, taking my own bags upstairs felt dangerous and I almost slipped and fell. It’s really dark even with all the lights on and the staff are gone by 5 so there is no one to assist you if you need. the inn looks NOTHING like the pictures, don’t be fooled. Couldn’t stay a second night and had to leave.

Just lovely! In our case we were on a major budget but also needed to get out of town as a family and took advantage of off-season Maine. We booked the Inn before I read some of the reviews here and I cringed! However, we are so pleasantly surprised! We checked in during check-in hours and were greeted by a friendly clerk. He immediately answered my 12yo’s questions about their ghost story with good humor. Our room is clean and perfect for our needs (2 room queen suite ). It isn’t huge but it gives our family space. Is it old? Yes, but you know it’s historic when you book. Is it “understaffed”? In comparison to their chain competitors, maybe. We’re Hilton diamond members and i have seen much worse at chains. But it is a homey feel and a lovely stay. If you want a uniform stay, there are plenty of big names in the area. But if you want to explore downtown and the coast line, this is a lovely, affordable, family friendly hotel. Well done!

We stayed here for an overnight, and while we didn't get a chance to check out the tavern or walk around because of the rain, it was a lovely stay. Very clean and classic old new England style hotel. The walls are thin though, so it can be tough to get a good night sleep.

The website doesn’t honestly present a true picture of the condition of the Inn. Upon our arrival, we were not greeted friendly and professionally. As we returned from an outing, the staff never looked up or spoke to us at all. Two boys working saw us struggling to get a suitcase up the stairs and never offered to help. The shower instructions said 8 minutes to get hot water. After 15 minutes it was only lukewarm. We had to retrieve something from our car late at night and the doors of the Inn were not locked and secure. We are sad to report the staff was less than hospitable and the conditions of the Inn were lacking.

Based on other reviews I thought this inn would be a great location and charming. Unfortunately when we arrived the entire place smelled like moth balls. We entered our room to find a King bed that looked as if it had a pull out mattress on it and felt that way as well. We arrived around 4pm on a Saturday afternoon and the local wine bar was closed and there were not any restaurants close by besides in the inn that were open or had a decent menu. It was like a ghost town in the middle of July. We could not find an uber or a lyft in the area to take us to the Boat House Restaurant which was 15 minutes away. On a positive note the young lady at the front desk was very sweet. It wasn't her fault the place was less than desirable. We literally brought our stuff in, went to dinner and drove back to RI that night. 10 out of 10 definitely do not recommend!

Love this place, but as a giant, showering in the clawfoot tub is a challenge.

Very nice historic place, good location, clean, the room was really spacious, comfortable bed, with small fridge and microwave, small living room with TV. The staff friendly and helpful.

This is the first review I have ever written in all the places I've stayed thru booking. Do not stay here unless you want terrible customer service and a terrible nights sleep. Pay more for a better Inn. There is not enough staff. I tried calling throughout the day before we got there and was continually put thru to an answering service. They sent a text for any concerns and did not reply to it. After getting there late, our room was hot with a very LOUD air conditioner window unit. It made a terrible buzzing sound. My children were trying to find outlets to charge their electronics and all did not hold the plug..they fell out..this is a fire hazard! The bathroom door would not latch. We decided to leave as we did not want to be up all night with the air conditioner buzzing on and off and barely giving off air...it was on its last leg. The staff member was new and didn't know what to do with my concerns and could not reach the inn keeper (said the reception was bad). I tried to work with the manager two days later 9 they were not interested in resolving) to get a partial refund. They refused. The Inn is old and creaky..not why we left, but keep this in mind.. you can hear everything and the person in the room next to you as well. We do not recommend!

I am writing because I was very disappointed in our stay and the service at this Inn. I had recently had knee replacement and hip replacement and had requested a room on the 1st floor as stairs are very difficult. We were give a room on the third floor. There was no closet for us to hang our suits or long dresses that we had brought for the wedding we were attending. We had recommended this Inn to 16 of our relatives and after seeing their rooms, we were even more disappointed. I went down to the front desk and the woman was very nice and moved us to a room on the second floor. At least this one had a closet. We were the first ones out of the family to book here and referred relatives to this place and we got the crappiest room. All the rest had king size beds and sitting rooms and mini fridges and nice bathrooms. I called to see if we could get some type of compensation for the poor accommodations and was told by the manager that where I booked thru travelocity, there was nothing she could do. I would highly recommend not booking with this Inn as they were not even able to help someone out who had a health issue. We also left our dirty towels in the hallway to be replaced and my husband had to go looking for some himself in the morning because they picked up the dirty ones but never left clean ones.
